Witnessing At the Meridian Idaho Temple Dedication

Today was a wonderful day to go out and witness to Mormons at their new temple dedication. I had just got done with church and I could feel the Holy Spirit leading me to share the good news of the gospel with them. I love Mormon people so much and I just wish that they could see how misled they are through following their prophets and extra biblical books. I wish they knew how lost they truly are. They have a veil over their faces and they don’t even see it. The truth of God is not evident because of how muddied up the waters are in their church. Surely, the Bible verses have been taken out of context to support their beliefs. So today I was driven to print out copies of my “Mormon Teachings That Don’t Agree With The Bible” page and pass it out to them. This handout simply compares the Mormon Teachings with the Bible Teachings. There is no personal opinion but only truth to be had. As I drove out to the dedication, I prayed that they would be open to the truths of the Bible. That they would rather follow the teachings of God than the doctrines of men. 11Jesus is the way and only His doctrines lead to salvation in heaven.

Upon arriving to their temple, I was energized to talk with as many people as I could. I invited everyone walking down the sidewalk to take the handout. Though many disregarded it, one man stopped to listen to me. I told him that I was once Mormon and by reading the bible the truths of God were opened up to me. From the handout, 8I explained that the Bible teaches that we are “children of God by faith in Christ”; 7we will not become gods; 3in heaven, there is no marriage but we will be “as the angels”; 10in these last days we are spoken to by Jesus and not prophets; 6we “are the temple of God”, 5God does not dwell in “temples made with hands”, nowhere in the new testament are we taught about the need for temple buildings. As I shared these truths, he listened carefully. Then, he explained that he was sad that I came to know these things and left the church. He’d rather follow the church teachings than to believe the Bible. In all this, I know there was seeds planted in his heart, this day. After talking with this gentlemen, a few people were interested in the handout and took it. Even a person at work took one. I am so grateful that they were at least open to know the truths of God.

Walking near the temple, this man came up to me and a group of us that had signs. He asked us why we had a need to be out here. My explanation was that many of the Mormon Teachings contradict the Bible. At this point, I showed him the differences in the handout, which he took. I started with each topic and as we talked about the differences in teachings his eyes were opened. 8He never knew that the Bible teaches that we are “the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus”. He thought we were all the children of God. 4He also didn’t know that Jesus was the creator of all things. But John, chapter 1, cleared that all up. 2He talked about becoming a God but we showed him in scripture that there is only one God. 1Satan was the one that said we could become gods. 9Then the kicker was when Matt Slick shared in scripture that “no man hath seen, nor can see” the Father, which disputes that fact that Joseph Smith did. His experience can only be a lie, according to scripture. This man was stunned by all this. He said that this could lead to his departure in the church, if all this was true. Praise God. What a wonderful time, it was, to talk with him. It was also a wonderful group discussion as well. Thank You Lord.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for leading me this day. My heart desired to share the truths of God with Mormons and You made a way through me. In my own power I did not know how to reach them but through the Spirit, their eyes were opened. You truly do all convicting. I am just a man but with You in my life, I can do all things. You can fulfill Your will through me. Thank You for using me as Your messenger. Lord, help those two men, I talked with. May the seeds that were planted, take root. I pray that they may earnestly seek to know You, through the Bible. Your words are alive and just like me, their eyes can also be opened to Your truths. I trust that You can do all things. Even this very hour, You could set them free and take the veil off their faces. Thank You for leading them to me. Thank You for their openness to listen. I just hope that they do receive You. I love You. Amen.

1Genesis 3:1-6 (KJV)
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

2Isaiah 45:5,6 (KJV)
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.

3Matthew 22:23-32 (KJV)
23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

4John 1:1-10 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

5Acts 7:44-54 (KJV)
44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
47 But Solomon built him an house.
48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

61 Corinthians 3:6-21 (KJV)
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your’s;

71 Corinthians 8:3-6 (KJV)
3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

8Galatians 3:24-29 (KJV)
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

91 Timothy 6:13-16 (KJV)
13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

10Hebrews 1:1,2 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

112 John 1:9-11 (KJV)
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
