Why is it that so many people are content with their own lives and not doing God’s will? This is the life we live in where people would rather continue doing what they have always done. They love their family traditions and their own beliefs that they have developed over the years. Therefore, wanting to do something different seems like a chore to them. And so we have God’s harvest ripe for the harvest, but there are few people who are actually doing anything for Him. Surely, as I write this message, the kingdom of God is alive and vibrant in only a few people’s lives. The fire of the Holy Spirit is almost non-existent anymore and this is because more people don’t put God first. If they did, then doing His will and not their own would become their priority. Don’t be fooled by people that say they love Jesus, but really they are not following Him or doing what He commands. These are only hypocrites and the sad thing is, is that there are more of these people out there than true believers nowadays. Do people not realize that Jesus said, 1“the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37,38) This is what I pray for often that more people would join me when I witness on the streets. That more people would desire to be Spirit-filled and be led by God and not their own self. I pray that people would be awakened before it is too late. I would hate to know that these types of people died in their disobedience to God. Imagine all the opportunities to serve God and do His will that they passed up. This will weigh heavy on them come the day of the white throne judgement.
Many pastors have simply stopped teaching on being obedient to God, for they believe it leads to a works salvation and not faith. However, this is totally untrue, for our faith leads us to follow Jesus and do what He commands instead of the world. Even Peter said, 3“we ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29) So is he wrong in saying that we need to obey God and not man? Of course not. How about Jesus? Do you trust in our Lord God, and Savior of this world? If so, then know that He said, 2“If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” (John 14:14,15) 2“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21) 2“If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine.” (John 14:23,24) 2“But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.” (John 14:31) 2“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) If you love Jesus, then you are actively seeking Him and keeping His commandments. You are not doing this alone but through the Holy Spirit. Salvation comes through Jesus, not man. So put your trust in Him and do as He says and you shall be saved. This is true faith, which will lead you straightway home to heaven and also become a messenger in God’s kingdom now.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will become more desirous to live for You and not their own lives. That doing Your will, will become a priority for them. That when people say they love You, that they will actually mean it. That instead of just worshipping in church, that they will also worship You in their home, work, car, and on the streets. Even every day will they come to You in prayer and studying Your Word, which is in the Bible. What I am asking for is more people that are genuine to their belief system and not just say something they don’t care for. Each day I look around and see that Your harvest is so ripe, but there is hardly anyone available to do things for Your kingdom. Instead, people make it a point to tune into their favorite TV Show, sports team, movies, or video games, while all this time is wasted away. So many people that say they are Christians are no different than people of this world. At least the wicked are not hypocrites, but actually do what they say they believe in. Lord, my heart is heavy just knowing that even pastors are teaching their congregation that being obedient to You is no longer important, but to have faith alone. To this, I wonder if these pastors are really saved and covered by Your blood, Jesus. If they were, then they would know that our love for You is shown through our obedience to You. Surely, we love You as we keep Your commandments, as You have taught us, oh Lord. And I know that it was never supposed to be difficult, for You have sent the Holy Spirit to be our comforter. Therefore, doing Your will is that much easier to accomplish. Doing Your will should never be a struggle, for we have the Holy Spirit and even Your angels to bear us up when things are hard. I give You thanks, dear Lord, for being there for us. Even the day that we commit to believe in and do Your will, though it may seem hard in the beginning. I know that You will open doors and allow us to shine forth as You have planned for our lives. Thank You, Lord. I believe in You and will follow You all my days. I love You more than anything. Amen.
