Mormons Teach A False Afterlife

Mormons teach a false afterlife that involves people dying and going to paradise or spirit prison. Those in paradise are only Mormons, for only they are saved at this point. Others, including the Jews and born-again Christians, are stuck in a place where they are administered to Mormon missionaries. They are then taught about the true church and how people on earth are doing different works for the dead for them in order to go to heaven. So people who were wicked and lived a sinful life on purpose, atheists, or not for God will be lumped with Christians and Jews in prison. We are then told that only if we accept their true teachings and ordinances (baptism for the dead, washings, endowments, and/or marriage ceremonies) done for them can we escape outer darkness and go to heaven. This means that the majority of people go to heaven.

Those who left the Mormon church in this life are called apostates, even if they became full-on Christians.  These people will no longer be able to repent but go to outer darkness come judgment day, even though they will be resurrected.  All others will be judged and forgiven by the Father, being also resurrected.  And so Mormons teach that the majority of people that have lived will go to one of three kingdoms in heaven.  The Celestial, Terrestrial, or Telestial Kingdom are different lives of heaven people go to.  Telestial, being the lowest, but like unto the earth, and Celestial being the best, where the Father and Jesus are.  Jesus visits those in The Terrestrial Kingdom.  However, for anyone to pass through judgment and into heaven, they must give their signs and tokens done in the temple, give their secret name, and pass through Joseph Smith.

What I just explained is the plan of salvation that Mormons teach people in their mission fields.  It is also taught to new members.  However, everything I mentioned above is false.  The true afterlife happens like this.  People either die and go to hell or paradise.  In hell, the wicked suffer in fire and much torment, while those in paradise are in a place where there are no more tears, sorrow, or death.  We all then await judgment, where Jesus is our judge.  Those in paradise receive their rewards, are resurrected, and then enter the new earth and heaven.  On the other hand, those in hell will find out that their names were not in the Lamb’s book of life, and therefore be cast into the lake of fire, being resurrected first.  In the lake of fire, people experience the second death to their bodies.  These teachings are backed up by the Bible.

Luke 16:19-31 (KJV)
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV)
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:1-8 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will get right with You in this life. People must know that there are no second chances after death, and that only a few people go to heaven, not the majority. How there will be many people will say, “Lord, Lord, didn’t I do all these wonderful works in your Name, even casting out demons”, but still, You did not know them. God, this is so true about people in Mormonism. They are raised up believing that only they are saved, while in the afterlife, people must accept their baptism or they cannot go to heaven. And so we see people playing the god card while trying to save people they think You are incapable of. This is such a false teaching and much arrogance is shown. I wonder how these people can go to sleep at night and still think they are right with You. I have tried to warn them but most people will not listen. I believe in You, Jesus. I love You. You can all things. Save the least of them. Amen.
