Judgement Is Near

There have been many people born on this earth and only few have something written about them, minus their genealogy. Not even a single thing is remembered over their generations. This was the case of the descendants of Noah in Genesis, chapter 10. However, there is one person that was written about. His name was Nimrod. It says that he “was a mighty hunter before the Lord”. It talks of his kingdom in “Babel, Accad, Calneh and in the land of Shinar.” He also built Nineveh and Calah. He did so many things that there were many people talking about him. You may ask, why this is important. The same way the Bible makes notice of people’s lives, the same goes for the Lord. He is watching over us. Either He has a lot to say about each of us or nothing at all. Either He knows us or He doesn’t. You may either be His mighty servant of who He speaks highly or just another name. Are you making a legacy among the people you live with or with God? Nothing we build up on earth will be made available in heaven but our faith in God. Everything we do is preparing us for judgement with God. We can either be afraid of what the Lord has to say about our lives or be eager to meet Him. The names of our generation is recorded just like Cush’s family. If our lives were built on worldly pleasures at the time of death we will be punished. We will be brought before the Lord to come to know that He never knew us. How sad will it be when everything we worked for was for nothing.

The Lord is looking into our hearts each day. He can see the legacy we are leaving behind. He can see the type of parent we are to our kids. He can see the type of husband or wife we are to our spouse. He knows if we love our family. He knows if we love and care for others. He knows if we are soaked in sin through addiction. Everything is recorded. There is nothing hidden before the Lord. No longer live for yourself but God. Come to know Him and learn of His ways. Live to know God. Build your faith around the Lord. If He is our rock than we have no need to fear. He will never abandon us. He fights are battles with us. We may fall but He is there to catch us. He is faithful and true to His promises. If Jesus is not in our hearts we are forced to take the beatings of life by ourselves. To live without Jesus in our hearts is emptiness. We may find things to fill our lives but we will never be satisfied. We will always need more to be filled. I ask each of you to commit to live for Jesus. You no longer have to live alone. Jesus will fill your hearts with joy. He will strengthen you. He will carry you when times are hard. All those that live for Jesus eagerly await Him. We can’t wait to one day live with Him in heaven. If we die with the Lord in our life we will be blessed. Jesus will be waiting for us. Our hearts will swell for we have made it home to live with our King. We don’t fear judgement for we are forgiven. Songs of praise will be ringing in the heavens above for the Lord is good and His servant has made it home.

Genesis 10:7-12
7 The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
8 Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.”
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,
12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).
