Answering God’s Call And Witnessing In My Neighborhood: Part 2

“Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:13-16)

Today I have a very special praise report. A young man that has been dear to my heart for these last three years, I met once again. He remembered me praying over his grandma and telling them about Jesus. It was in April 2020 that I went on a walk and I met up with them both. She had an oxygen tank and could hardly breathe with it. Upon meeting them, I told them about Jesus and that I believe that God could heal her of her sickness. I then asked them if I could pray over her. And she said of course. It was then that God used me to cast out every sickness that was causing her to have oxygen problems. I felt the power of God with me as I prayed over her. After praying, she said she felt better. However, I didn’t fully understand what she meant until today. And now for the joyous reunion.

As I was parking my car in my driveway, this same young man saw me in the street, while sitting in his car. He then proceeded to ask me if I was that religious man he met those three years ago. He was describing the person he met and when he saw me, he knew he had found me at last. Answering his question, I said of course I remember him, and also his grandma. He then told me that his grandma had been talking about me all this time. She had thought my name was Paul but couldn’t remember. He said that she had been looking for me also at the same street corner, but could never find me. She wanted to tell me that she was grateful to meet me. How she was healed, and since that day her health has been better. Hopefully, I’ll be able to see her soon also. What a joyous reunion this was already.

This young man then proceeded to tell me that his faith in God has increased dramatically after that day. He now goes to church on a regular basis and reads his Bible. This is the same Bible that I gave him that day. It was on that day that I asked him if he would like a Bible, and praise God that he still has it and reads it today. He said they are both so grateful to have met me. That I was willing to pray over her, and to share the good news about Jesus with them both. That God meant for us to meet that day. They said they would never forget me, and I will never forget them also. My friends, did I expect for this to happen today? Not in a million years. These people have been on my heart for so long, and finally I was able to see the fruits of being in God’s harvest firsthand. Thank You, God. I love You, Lord. Amen.

Here is the original encounter with this young man and his grandmother in April 2020. I wrote about the encounter that day, and it is called, “Answering God’s Call And Witnessing In My Neighborhood“.   Click the title to see that message also.

  1. Amen! What a fantastic reunion, Glorious! God saved 2 people that day that Paul preached the gospel in his neighborhood. He is a wonderful father and awesome God. Preach the word. Seek the lost. There is not much time left. Every one of us is called by God to preach.
