Thirst For The Lord, In Trials

He is our greatest helper of all. Nothing can satisfy the soul more than the love of Jesus. 4He has power to calm the raging sea. There is nothing we need in life that He can’t satisfy. In your most difficult circumstances have you come to God for help? Have you confided in Him to get you through the pain? Or have you tried things on your own to bring you happiness, though it never lasts? The world seems to have an answer to all lives trials. There seems to be some sort of remedy or drug for every circumstance we are in. They may tell you that all you need to do is be on top of your meds or natural remedies and you’ll be fine. There are always side affects or other things to try but that is expected. Modern marvels in medicine is great and we should research it, but doing so with the Lord at the head. He will help us make the wisest decision. He is also our greater healer, so trust in him for healing as well. What Jesus can do for you is lasting, with no consequences. His love lasts for an eternity. 5If you are down, then the Lord can bear your burdens that they may be light. He can lift you up when you are weak. There is nothing like the God of the heavens. Nobody is greater than our God. Nothing can do more than the power of His hand in our lives.

3If you are weak, then come to the waters of Jesus. In Him, you will never thirst again. He holds the waters of everlasting life. David said that His heart 2“panteth after the water brooks” when he was thirsty. However, he was most thirsty for God. It was after Him, that he most longed for. He continued, 2“My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?” To be in His presence went above everything. In good times and bad, he poured his soul out to God for assistance. He was grateful for what the Lord had done and gave praise to the Lord on high. At times, he was grieved and said, 2“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.” The hardships of life would not weight him down to long for the Lord would raise him up. In times of fear, he trusted in God for guidance. He didn’t mask his pains in drugs or alcohol. He gave himself over to God, who saves. He trusted that all would be well for God was in control. Before He went to bed, He proclaimed, 2“Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.” Are you willing to give your life to Jesus? Are you willing to go all in with Him, even in the darkest times? 1If you are, then you will be greatly blessed for the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know that You are there. I know that You care for me. Who shall I fear, for You will always be there? I know that You are watching over me deeply. You carry me through lives hills and valleys. Even on your shoulders, you carry me forth as one wounded in battle. I am amazed at everything you do for me. You continue to lift me up, though I don’t deserve it. Even when I forsake You, You beckon me back home. Your arms are ever extended for me when I am away. Thank You for being there for me. You are my Good Shepherd. Lord, help those that are struggling right now in depression, going through a death in the family, or illness. Bear there burdens. Lift them up and comfort them. Help me to seek those in need that I might also help bear each other’s burdens. Help me to walk in Your light, oh Lord. I love You. Amen.
