Read and ponder the commandments of God carefully. Hear what God truly has said and why it is so important to obey them. If you are unfamiliar with the ten commandments, I invite you to open your Bible and re-read them today. But today, we will focus our attention on commandment number 7, 1“Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery”. This is a command of God because adultery is abominable in the sight of God. It is not tolerated in the least. God’s mercy is for those that repent but anyone that does not and stays in this unrepentant lifestyle will have no part in heaven but be thrown into hell fire forever. 4“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” This is a warning from God and should not be taken lightly. God is the real deal and what He says stands and I believe it. If I was living in sexual sin, I’d be very fearful of my life and future judgments from God. Truly the guilt would be compounding daily as I live in this fashion. Jesus said, 3“whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” It is made clear that the very act of sleeping with a married man or woman does not only break this law but your lustful thoughts for people also.
If you were to keep God’s commandments and have them 2“continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck”, then this issue with adultery would not be a problem at all. Your love for God would compel you to live out your faith and no longer live to fulfill your lusts. 2“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.” Those in Christ Jesus, allow His laws to penetrate their hearts, day in and day out. They are then able to gain understanding and walk in His light. If they fall into sin, they give into the God’s reproofs and repent. This is the righteous way to live. However, most people do not subscribe to God’s laws and His reproofs. Therefore, they find themselves on a slippery slope to destruction, in this life and the life to come. Please understand that sex outside of marriage, is unlawful to God. Sex is only lawful between husband and wife. Anyone that partakes in sexual acts, while in a homosexual relationship, married or not, is committing an abomination in God’s sight. A single person that has sex with anyone that is married or non-married is committing whoredoms in the eyes of God. If a person is looking at a person to lust, they are committing adultery and is also tried the same way as someone that has done it in the act. This lust can happen on the streets or on a phone, tablet or computer, while looking at pornography. There is no getting around that these are very sinful acts and will be punished with the most severity in judgement.
If you have lust in your heart and eyes for another, that is not your spouse, then you are committing adultery. Acknowledge this fact and repent now. Come to Jesus, that You may be cleansed. Only God can change your wicked heart and have it last. God warns you 2“to keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.” And realize your life is precious in the sight of God and when you give into this lustful sexual sin, you are forgoing your chance for forgiveness and grace. By continuing to live in willful sin, you will one day see the effects of what you’ve done in judgement. Please answer these questions. 2“Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?” While standing in judgement, there will be much fear, for the sinner will realize that they missed the opportunity to repent when it was available throughout their life. 2“Whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding.” Instead of finding a way to escape they continue on, in order to find appease the flesh. God will 2“not spare” them 2“in the day of vengeance.” If you are in sin, repent today. Come to Jesus and become new through His blood. I pray that you become sanctified and justified 4“in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for this wicked and adulterous generation. Please wake them up to their sins. Help them realize that their lustful desires for one another, outside of marriage, will not be tolerated. May they begin to fear your judgments and be made clean today. Bring them to their knees in repentance. May they begin to accept Your reproofs and no longer look upon another with lust. I know Lord that adultery, fornication, homosexuality and pornography is all a part of adultery and very wicked. This sexual sin is tearing families apart left and right. It is attempting to break the barrier for what is right and what is wrong. My heart is saddened by the wickedness in these people’s lives. Their sexual sin is tearing them apart and they don’t even see it. Lord, open their eyes to the abominations and whoredoms they are committing. Help them know that there is vengeance for a person that lives apart from Your mercy. May they be compelled to seek You before it is too late. In their brokenness, may they desire something better, something pure, something holy. I pray this does happen and that You come into their lives and transform them. May they be justified and sanctified in Your love. I trust in You. I love You Lord. Amen.
