The words of God are like nothing we’ve ever seen or heard before. It is unique in every way possible. The words bring an awakening to the soul. They bring people to their knees in repentance for their sins. They bring about good men who live for a good cause. They bring people together, of all nations, and teaches them to love one another. They teach everyone to walk in the faith of a living God. They teach men and women to trust in God over man. It is no ordinary book. It isn’t a book we ought to read once or twice. It isn’t a book we ought to read every so often. The Bible is divine and inspired by God himself and ought to be cherished. Daily Bible study ought to be something to look forward to each day. It ought to be a privilege to read what God has for our lives. Men teach that after death we go to the grave and that is it. Not even science can give us a better understanding of what comes after death. It is a depressing thing to think about. It gives us no purpose to this life. The Bible teaches another story about new life. It teaches that Jesus loved us so much as to die for us. On the cross He paid the price for our sins. All those that believe in Him shall be saved. The faithful followers of Jesus will be blessed with everlasting life in heaven. Our life doesn’t end in death but has a chance to either live forever in paradise or hell. We are taught that everyone has a chance to repent and come to Jesus before their life is over. Those that are born again through Christ Jesus are washed clean but those that neglect this chance die in their sins. We have a choice to make. Trust in man or trust in the Lord. God’s words are true. There is purpose to each one of our lives. God can see the person we can become. He see’s great things in this life and the life to come.
Before I knew God, the words of the Bible had no meaning to my life. I never understood what it all meant and only saw it bringing to light my sins. The words would pierce my heart and make me feel broken inside. For years, I would read off and on, and get that same feeling. I didn’t even want to read certain passages for it made me feel uncomfortable. Then, one day, everything changed. After years of feeling broken I finally told the Lord sorry for what I had done. I knew it was Him trying to tell me what I was doing is wrong but I didn’t listen. I felt so bad and felt that He would never forgive me. I felt so wretched inside. But then, an overwhelming peace came over me. I felt a love that I had never felt before. I felt the awesome presence of a living God that loves me. The next day, as I was driving and listening to Christian music it was as if I heard Him say, your sins are forgiven. I couldn’t believe it. Tears were flowing down my face. This amazing experience was the fire that lit my soul. I now love to be taught by God. If there is something wrong in my life I am grateful that He would care enough to help me. I delight in reading God’s word. I cherish my time with God. 1“The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them.” Abide in the word of God and you will find eternal joy in this life and the life to come. Seek after Jesus and His words will come to life in your life.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank you for opening my eyes to the beauty of your words. Convict me, through prayer and through your words, whenever I am off track. Keep me inline to Your standards. I love Your ways. I will preserve Your teachings in my heart. May Your teachings always be with me. I love You. Amen.
