Halloween Is An Evil Holiday

Why is it that many so-called Christians do not understand how evil Halloween really is? How is it that these people take their children out on this day in order to go trick-or-treating or stay at home passing out candy? Don’t they realize that participating in an evil holiday like this is also allowing the world to think that nothing is wrong with celebrating it either? We are told in the Bible to not be like unto those people in the world, but because they don’t pray often or read the Bible daily they don’t understand this. There are many Bible passages on this one topic. Let’s read them all. Paul wrote, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:1,2) John also wrote, “love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (1 John 2:15,16)

People who celebrate Halloween love the world more than God. They would rather distance themselves away from Him on that day, instead of being separate from the things of this devilish holiday. People may say to me, “Halloween is just for fun. There is no harm in this.” However, they are so wrong by justifying their actions.  Now, for you to understand the dangers of celebrating Halloween along with everyone else, let us discuss the different issues. Here are the festivities that people often do on this day. Children wear costumes that include aliens, the devil, evil clowns, ghosts, skeletons, vampires, zombies, witches, and more. If you can’t see the evils in these outfits, then God surely is not with you. Even if your daughter is dressing like a princess it is still wrong, for you are in agreement with the participation of these evil festivities. I say evil, for they also decorate their own houses with ghosts, skeletons, graves, jack-o-lanterns, and more. This in itself tells me that they appreciate the dark arts instead of disapproving of it as the Bible says. I wonder if people who haven’t given up the celebration of Halloween are even reading the Bible daily or praying much. The heart of a true Christian is to love the Lord and to hate the things He hates.

People who participate with others on Halloween must really hate the following verses. “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21,22) “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:20,21) Therefore, these people who participate in Halloween, even trick-or-treating, are allowing Satan’s influences to penetrate their lives. That is why they can’t see all the evils therein, while also calling evil good, which is terrible. Are people abstaining from the appearance of evil when they do the things I just mentioned above? How about when they go to haunted houses, go to corn mazes where people dress up in scary costumes and jump out at them, go to parties where drinking and having sex is at the forefront of people’s minds, tell ghost stories, walk through graveyards at night, and more? All this is evil, evil, evil. People who are Christian would never do this on other days of the year, so why would they do so on Halloween? You have to ask if people that celebrate Halloween are really in the faith or not. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, it is always so interesting this time of year. I see homes of people that are pastors, bishops, elders, and teachers and still they decorate their houses like others do on Halloween. I’ve even seen these individuals take their children out trick-or-treating or hand out candy at their doorstep. This leaves me scratching my head. Don’t these people know the evils of this devilish holiday? If so, why do they continue to be just like everyone else in the world? I wish I could help people understand Your will for their lives, but instead most people mock me for living a life that pleases You. That is so sad, for living in Your holiness is what brings about the Holy Spirit in our lives. It is then that we know what is right and what is wrong and can cling to what is good. Lord, I love Your ways and hate the appearance of evil. All I ask is that You come and make a home in my life. Please do this on an everyday basis. I never wish to be separate from Your presence again. Even today, Satan was tempting me with some evil thoughts from past transgressions, but turning on some good praise music fixed all this. Lord, when I pray and praise You in song, all the temptations go away. Thank You, Lord. I love You, God. Amen.
