No Evidence For The Book Of Mormon

You would think that after two hundred plus years there would be some sort of evidence for the Book of Mormon. Isn’t this what the people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints would want? Wouldn’t they want to see something verifiable if Joseph’s book was really from God? After extensive searching for evidence of its truthfulness over many years, they still have nothing to show for themselves. Instead, there are constant empty claims being purported by various types of people. Possible findings here and there, but never any evidence to back it up. As for Christians, we look in from the outside and see the Mormon people believe in their book and wonder why. At least for Christians, the Bible is backed up by over two thousand years of ancient scrolls. Some scrolls (Isaiah scrolls) even date back to 600BC. There are more manuscripts for the Bible than any other book. We got the same cities we find in the Bible on the earth today. People in the Bible are recognized as real people from outside sources. Even Josephus wrote about Jesus and his wonderful works, his crucifixion, and even his resurrection. A piece of this ancient manuscript is as follows…

“Now, there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works-a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ; and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; and the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day.” (The Works Of Josephus, 1987)

The Book of Mormon is claimed to be scripture but without one ounce of evidence. No evidence of ancient records on plates, the sword of Laban, the Reformed Egyptian language, or the cities mentioned in the Book of Mormon have been found. No names of people in the Book of Mormon or other ancient writings that verify its existence have been discovered. So instead of relying on any ounce of proof for their faith in the Book of Mormon, they rely on their feelings. If one person says it is true, then it must be true. And if they keep bearing their testimony that it is true, then it will help them to. The feelings they get when reading it must make it true, they say. However, the Bible speaks against trusting in feelings. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:9,10) My friends, if the Book of Mormon was true you would at least have some evidence by now. Therefore, we are not to trust it. The Bible is all you need. Stop doubting it as it is God’s Word for mankind. A God-given roadmap to guide us. Amen.
