Only true Christians will be saved and go to heaven one day. These are those that will be welcomed into the joy of God’s kingdom with open arms. Unfortunately, most people that say they are Christians are really not and here is why… #1. Most believers either believe in Jesus alone or say they do but have nothing to show for their belief. #2. If there are any actions to their beliefs, it is not in line with what the Word of God teaches and therefore, they have gone astray. #3. People have fallen into dark paths because they are not reading the Bible daily. These three things are killing people’s chances from being saved. If they just knew that our belief alone without works is dead. As James said, 4“even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” And our own works plus our faith is not true either. Only our belief plus the works of God equals true faith. This is also the meaning of a true Christian. Paul put it this way, 2“we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” As you just read, it is God’s works that we should walk in and not our own. And how do we know what works of God that we ought to walk in? It is by daily Bible study + prayer + Holy Spirit that this happens. These things lead us into doing God’s will for our lives and not our own will. So to define a true Christian, it is someone that believes in Jesus Christ for salvation and does His will also. A person that does not read the Bible daily, does not do the will of the Lord, for they do not know what He says.
Now that we have defined what a true Christian is, I would like you to think to yourself if you are living a life of a Christian. Well, are you? If not, then repent and come fully to Christ before it is too late. Jesus takes this subject very seriously and you ought to also, for only His true followers will be saved and be with Him in heaven. Now, let us read what Jesus said, and have an open heart to what he taught us. He said, 1“why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” Only those that do what Jesus says is His true disciple, everyone else is lying to themselves. These are those that are on a road to destruction. James added to this and said, 3“be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” If any of you are not doing what Jesus says, then your soul is in jeopardy of going to hell. I pray that you will wake up today. Open up and start reading the Bible daily. Allow the words to penetrate your life, that you may be obedient to God, starting today. This will set the course for your life and eternity.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will wake up to live for You, starting today. May they truly desire to live a life that is pleasing in Your sight and no longer walk in sin. May You take them by the hands and lead them out of the darkness and into Your light. I know that there are many people on a road to destruction, where in their eyes, they feel like they are saved. I do not wish these people to die this way and to face the truth of their actions come judgement day. Instead, I wish people would start reading the Bible daily and find time to truly give themselves over to You in prayer. Maybe then will they start seeking You more often and desire to have a relationship with You, God. Then, will they be led by the Spirit and enjoy Your blessings from above. I know that our own works can do nothing good for our future, but Your good works, plus our faith, can move mountains. We can do all things with the Spirit of God in our lives. Nothing is impossible with You Jesus giving us direction. I am truly blessed, Lord, just to know Your will, by reading the Bible daily and through prayer. Your words have helped deepen my walk with You and now I can truly do what You have said. My walk is no longer led by my own hand but by Your works in my life. Thank You for taking me away from my hurtful desires. I was on rocky ground until you firmly placed me on Your rock. Now I am safe and am able to endure in this faith till the end. I am grateful for everything You have done for my life and pray that You will continue to lead me in the ways that are right. I trust in You Lord. I love You. Amen.

47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
4James 2:14-18 (KJV)
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
