If you are wise, then You are also listening to God and doing what He says. You are keeping His commandments and not your own. You are not doing what you think is right but what the Lord says is right, by studying His Word. The Lord calls us and says 2“hear, O my son, and receive my sayings.” To His daughters, He calls them also to Him, that they would give ear to Him. God teaches us in the ways of wisdom. He does so by way of His Word, prayer, and other Christians. God can speak to us through any willing vessel, in order to share His truths with others. All we have to do is open our mouths and He will fill them. The harsh reality is, that most people do not listen to God and those that do, do not act on His promptings. To these people, God 1“gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.” So Called Christians are among these people. Unfortunately, they are on the wide path to destruction and don’t even realize it. They feel like they are safe in their salvation with God, though their hearts are far from Him. Jesus calls these people out and says, 3“this people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Look at your life. If you aren’t living for God, then your belief and worship is also in vain. Beware, lest you be found a hypocrite in the eyes of God.
The Bible makes it clear how we can know how to live and act for God. He teaches us to 2“take fast hold of instruction” and 2“let her not go” but keep it. Only then, can we be led by the Lord. Through this, can we walk on the path of righteousness, that leads to God. If you are on this road, then you understand that God is leading you and therefore you are safe. You are able to escape the temptations of the evil one, with God’s hand in your lives. There is no false belief inside your heart, for your thoughts are given over to God for instruction. It is important to come to God often, lest we go astray. Never be too high on yourselves lest you fall flat on your face. The reason why most people are lost and not secure in their salvation is, their faith is weak and has not led them to live differently. 4And if they are not born again, they will continue living for the flesh and not the Spirit. I pray that you will listen to God’s counsel when He says, 2“enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.” Can you see the importance of this counsel? If you continue in your sinful ways, then you will continue to do mischief and stumble. 2“The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness.” Ponder on these things and allow God to 2“remove thy foot from evil.” You are capable of so much more, if You put your trust in God.
Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for coming into my life. Thank You for Your wise counsel. It is a pleasure to be used by You. Your promptings have led me to live differently and I am so grateful. I was so lost without You. My life was in shambles until You lifted me up and led me to the light. As I confessed my sins, Your forgiveness was for me. As tears streamed down my face, I could feel Your mercy. Thank You Lord. Thank You for leading me from the darkness. I no longer stumble but walk assured of my faith that leads to salvation. If I do anything Lord, it is to do Your will. I pray that Your desires, become my desires also. May my life be shining light to the lost. Help me reach them and share the truth of Your words with them. May they be responsive in a good way and receive prayer. I pray that many more people will get off of the wide path, that leads to destruction, and follow You, Lord. I know that all things good reside in Your presence. Lead us from evil and on Your righteous path. I trust in You Lord. I love You. Amen.
