There are many people that profess to follow Jesus but don’t know Him. To not teach and lift up the cross is following a path leading to death. For this reason, we need to read the Bible and pray that we may not be led astray. The message of the cross is clear to all Christians that are saved. It is through the cross that our sins are forgiven. We can’t express enough thanks for all the Lord has done for us. We stand amazed at His great love. Paul taught, “the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” When the saving grace of Jesus Christ is in our hearts something miraculous takes shape. Our lives are changed. Every sin we have ever committed is washed away. God gives us a clean slate to follow Him. As we pray, our understanding is opened to the goodness of God. His love shines bright in our hearts. Each day that we look towards Him for answers, we are blessed. We delight in following Jesus for He has given us hope because of the cross. There is now a clear path to follow because of the grace of our Lord and Savior.
When my heart was tied to a religion I thought I would come to know more of the cross but I never did. It’s importance was never spoken of. However, I knew deep down that it had a bigger meaning than only the death of our Lord Jesus. It was when I saw myself as a sinner that I found out how much I truly needed Him in my life. He came for me and took away my shame. His mercy fell down on me, though I was broken. He gave me new life and made me whole again. The scriptures are now clear to me that on the cross He suffered for our sins. He felt all our pains and sorrows. Though we are sinners He had compassion on us all and died for us. Through His blood, our sins are forgiven. In His death, our sins are washed clean. He took all our sins and shame upon himself and suffered for the love of all mankind. He surrendered everything that we might live with Him again. He gave us a plan to return to Him if we but accept Him into our hearts. Jesus did rise from the dead and for everyone that believes in Him will be saved. Make Him Lord of your life and you will be eternally blessed.
1 Corinthians 1:18-21 (KJV)
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
