“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.” (1 Corinthians 10:21-23)
Halloween is coming, but it does not have to influence us. Therefore, rebuke this wicked holiday. Say get behind me Satan! Don’t let the devil take hold of your life. If you don’t know that this day is demonic, then look closer. You really think that God is ok with haunted houses? What about the ghostly figures, witches, skeletons, figures of Jason, and more? Do you feel right inside when you walk by the haunted houses or decorated houses that I just mentioned? If not, then know that this is the premise of the holiday. It is to scare people. During Halloween, things in real life have the intention of scaring people, just like scary movies aim to give them nightmares. And would you say this is from the Holy Spirit or demonic spirits? You got that right if you answered demonic spirits. So many people are influenced by the devil because of the dark arts in their lives, but don’t realize it.
Don’t think that doing trunk or treat at your church is doing something better. What are people doing at these events? They are still decorating their cars and trunks the same way they do their houses. Kids also dress up in the same demonic costumes as they would during Halloween. This is no different from if a person went around their neighborhood and knocked on doors for candy. The same way the houses are decked out in demonic decorations, the cars are doing the same thing. Is this of God? If you are a true Christian, you would say, absolutely Not. But if you are a lukewarm Christian, you would say, Yes. People may claim to be a Christian while at church, but if they are into movies with witchcraft or sorcery, then they are not of God, but are of this world. These people are unsaved. Only by repenting and turning to Jesus can they leave the darkness behind and be saved. Amen.
