Mormons would like you to believe that only people that hold the priesthood can preach the gospel, and do ordinances? In their 5th article of faith, it reads, “we believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.” (Articles Of Faith) However, what they really are saying is that priests are still necessary, even when Jesus ended the need to do animal sacrifices with His atonement on the cross. This is why we had priests. And what ordinances, you may ask? These are their temple endowments, and eternal marriage ceremonies, which are for them and the dead. Is this of God? Of course not. Do they care? No. They believe in it so it must be right? Instead of God pouring out His Spirit upon people, causing them to preach, they believe they must be ordained to this by the laying on of hands first. Is this ridiculous? Yep.
So instead of people having to be called by God through prophecy, Christians are called by God when the Holy Spirit falls upon them. A person does not have to have someone lay their hands upon them first, for God has already called them into His ministry Himself. Therefore, these excited and bold believers go out willfully and preach His gospel. Not being told to do this by someone, but because the Holy Spirit is leading them. And no, we don’t do ordinances in temples made with hands, especially works for dead people. This is necromancy. It is written, “and he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:7,8) And the Holy Spirit is flowing upon preachers in all the world.
Lastly, Timothy was not ordained by anyone but was still called out by Paul to preach the gospel. “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:1-5) My friends, don’t believe the lies in Mormonism. Read the Bible and you will know that God doesn’t tie us down to a man that has to lay his hands upon us first. If you are wrapped up in this cult, get out while you still have time. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for the sake of every person that is brainwashed in the Mormon cult. The way they brainwash their victims is very efficient but sad at the same time. What this makes me believe is that only a few of them will ever leave their religion and to You for salvation. God, from a young age, they teach their children that families will be together forever, and to follow their prophets no matter what. They do all this, not caring one bit that the Bible teaches that “the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8) Could every person in a family be together in heaven if this is true? Absolutely not. You are a God of love and a God of wrath. People should be following You, Jesus, and not so-called prophets. I trust in You for salvation, Lord, not a religion. Amen.
