Each of you has something that God desires. He knows what you are able to do now, but more importantly what you are capable of in His kingdom. In order to achieve this, we must do our part and step out in faith. Not just by word, but in deed also. So if we are putting our name at the table to follow Jesus, then God expects that we keep our word. The same thing can be said with the people of Israel. God asked them to take their own rod and write their names upon them. God would then change the form of the one He chooses so that it may blossom. It is written, “and the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod. And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.” (Numbers 17:1-3) Are you also willing to write your name down for the working of the kingdom of God? If so, write your name down in your mind and give it to God now. Say “God, please take this note in order to know that I am all in to serve You.”
The story of the children of Israel reads, “and thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.” (Numbers 17:4,5) “And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.” (Numbers 17:8) This must have been an amazing sight to see. But now let’s apply this into our lives today. What we do for God will either blossom or do nothing. It depends on if our heart is for working for the kingdom of God or not. The truth is, only a few people are actively doing God’s will on a day-to-day basis. These are those who have found the straight and narrow gate that leads to heaven. There is much fruit in their lives. God has blossomed their talents and spiritual gifts for His glory. Now think about your life. Have you stepped out in faith and can you see the fruit of your labors? Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will look into our hearts and know that we are sincere in working for Your kingdom. Even now, as I write, many people are stepping out in faith like never before. No longer are people stuck in their homes because of COVID, but are going out on missions, doing street evangelism, going to prisons, visiting people in nursing homes, holding Bible studies, and much more. This is wonderful to see, Lord. Thank You for giving these desires to so many people in the faith. I am so happy to see that things are picking up again. Truly, the government has tried to control us over these last two years and I am glad we are not letting them do this any longer. You have called us to go out in all the world to preach the gospel and that is finally happening again. Praise God. I love to go on mission trips to Utah with my friend Patrick and others who join us. You have put a burden in my heart to reach the lost wherever they may be. Even in my own city, You have called me in these efforts and I pray that many people will join me. I love to see people give their lives to You. Surely, only through the Holy Spirit is this happening. I love Your ways, God. Have Your way in my life now and forever. Amen.
Amen! We must be willing to be used by God in His kingdom for His glory. We must make our faith alive and active and bear fruit for God. That’s the second part of being saved. It’s the rhird condition. The first condition or the initial salvation, is by grace alone through faith and belief and trust alone in Christ alone. The second condition is repentance which is getting born again and having a brand new life and attitude and outlook and forsaking sin as far as it is possible to forsake it. The third condition is that we live for God and do things for Him and His kingdom and bear fruit.
