The Coronavirus And The Fourth Seal

When it comes to the coronavirus, many people are now very fearful of it.  And because they don’t know what will happen next, people are in panic mode. This is most likely the unbelievers, for every believer in Christ has nothing to fear, for we are already saved through His blood that was shed on the cross. Now, when it comes to prophesy, we could very well be living in the great tribulation time. If this is the case, then I believe we would fall into the fourth seal. And to understand this seal, we need to look at the third seal for context purposes. Those verses read, ¹“and when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” (Revelation 6:5,6) So we learn that food and water would be either hard to come by because of the price differences or not able to find at all. You can think of this as the great depression and even now where people are waiting in lines for different types of food, and other items like canned food, water, toilet paper, masks, and other things. Now, this brings us to the fourth seal, which leads to death coming to the earth. It reads, ¹“and when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” (Revelation 6:7,8) Wow, so it begins with death and hell falling upon the people.  Where the unbelievers are the ones fearing for their lives.  Because these people are on the path of destruction, hell is their final destination, unless they repent and come to Jesus.

So let’s now look at what the fourth seal entails in more detail. We got four things coming to the earth. The person riding the pale horse is called death and he is bringing war, starvation, plagues, and death by animals. I mention plagues, since looking at the Greek, death stands for plague in verse 8. This brings us to World War 2, which came after the great depression. Where the holocaust killed about 6 million Jews, which is very sad. There have been more wars since this time as well. People have been starving all across the globe since this time, and even now it is hard to find certain food and water on the store shelves with the coronavirus outbreak, which may cause starvation to happen to more nations. Because of the H1N1/Swine flu outbreak, over 18,000 people died because of pigs, which the fourth seal mention wild beasts. Now, what people are most concerned about now is the coronavirus, which has already spread across the globe. Where, as of this message, China and Italy are on lockdown. They are put under quarantine because of the virus, and now the number of cases is 145,630 and 5,423 deaths. This virus outbreak is now a national emergency in the United States. Other countries are also following suit, where traveling to other countries is not an option. Now, if this and other pandemics before it are based on this prophecy, then we are living in the last days. This means that the fifth and sixth seal, along with different plagues will still be administered to the earth by God’s angels. So what does this all mean? If the Bible is being fulfilled before our eyes then the wicked have much to fear, for God’s wrath is being poured out upon them. Now, the righteous are in this mix of people affected, however, we have no fear, for we are already saved and know where we will go when we die. For everyone else, people should see this as a sign from God and repent, for Jesus is soon to come.

Let us pray:
Lord, I pray that people will see the coronavirus as a plague in these last days. May they understand that we are living in dark times and to be prepared for Your coming. We don’t want to be on wrong standing with You and die in our sins. It would be so fearful to wake up in hell when we knew the whole time that we could have repented. Lord, this virus outbreak is fearful for the unrighteous, for they are on the path of destruction. The righteous, whom Your blood has made us this way, are at peace, for we know that it is only a sign of Your coming, oh Lord. Surely, what we need is more witnesses in the world now, in order to declare the truth of God to the wicked. Just as John, call up people with willing hearts to prepare the way of Your Second Coming. Give us wisdom, oh Lord. Make us courageous for Your kingdom. Fill our hearts and minds with things to speak. We are made bold because You dwell in those people that love You. Lord, I know that right now people are panicking and buying all food, toilet paper, masks, hand sanitizer, and other cleaning supplies, but they cannot run from Your wrath. People can get all they need to feel secure when the world is crumbling, but really this is only a false sense of security. We can get all we need in life from the world and feel comfortable, but all this will fall apart come death if people are not for You. Surely, if people are not for You, then are against You. To these people, Lord, cause them to come to repentance before it is too late. There still is time, even in this great coronavirus pandemic for people to know You as their Lord and Savior. I love You, Lord. I trust in You for salvation. Lead me by the hand and help me stay on course. My only wish is to do Your will and be with You in heaven, one day. Amen.
