Oh how good it is to have the Lord God shine down upon us. Through His glorious presence we are changed. In the moment that God comes into our lives, we are never the same again. As we were once foolish in the ways of the world, our hearts are now turned to righteousness. God’s wisdom comes and turns our faces from evil to what is good. Even our appearance is different for the Lord is with us. Solomon said, 2“who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.” You may think that a man is good enough to gain enough wisdom from himself or others in this world but that is untrue. Right after Solomon spoke about this wisdom that makes our faces shine bright, he related this to God. For He is what illuminates our lives. He said, 2“I counsel thee to keep the king’s commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.” For we are only able to do what is right when we regard God’s laws and do them. This makes us wise. However, those that disregard God’s commandments are those that fall into sin. As they leave the presence of God, wickedness fills their lives. Solomon knew this when he said, 2“be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.” Surely, doing your own thing will lead you on a path to destruction. So be wise and seek not to do your own will but what the Lord God would have you do.
In regards to God and the wisdom He gives to His children, it is so marvelous that it is impossible to even imagine. The best things we have ever learned does not stand a chance to what God is able to teach us. Even the best things we can experience does not hold a candle to being in the presence of God. And the reason for all this is that 2“where the word of a king is, there is power”, as Solomon said. Therefore, no temptation can strike us down when God is with us. He is our strength and leads to ever so do what is right. Though we still experience heartache, pains and sorrow, He is our comforter through it all. There is joy and happiness, but His peace is what sustains us. What may overtake us to sadness and depression, God does not allow it to overcome us, as He carry’s us out of bondage. This is the promise of God for us, as Solomon said, 2“whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing.” This promise is for the faithful followers of God, now and forever. Even in judgement, our salvation is secure through Christ Jesus. The pains of this world and the hell to come has no power over us, for we have the Lord God within us, who saves. Count on Jesus for salvation and there will only be goodness and grace for your life and the life to come. So, as David said, will you also say, 1“come and save us. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved”? This prayer is enough to change your life. Go all in for Christ and you will not regret it.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You do shine down upon me. Come into my life and fill me with wisdom. Deliver me from temptation and lead me to Your righteousness. Cut every addiction out of my life and deliver me out of bondage. My life of foolishness is over. Come and make me wise today. With Your light in my life I can do all things. In Your presence, nothing can take me down. I am strong with You. Where I come up short, You fill in the gaps. Even my lowly stature is elevated. I may not know what to say but with Your words in my mouth, the Spirit of truth comes out. The boldness that You bring comes inside of me and leads me to do things that are lifesaving. Where people’s lives may not have been affected by Your great will before, they are starting today, when You speak through me. Surely Lord, Your words penetrate the heart and soul and pierce the heart of every man and woman on this earth. With that same speech within me, the Spirit of God moves inside ever soul that I meet. Yes God, Your will goes forth because I am an able witness for Your greater good. This is my prayer, that You will always remain in me. Continue to shine forth through me that all mankind will experience Your great love. Amen.
