In all times, we ought to remember God. Every day, remember to put the Lord first. We are so blessed by such a loving God, give Him thanks. When your life is built upon the Lord, trials will still come, but will be easier to bear. This is because you are not fighting the fight on your own any longer. You have a great God who loves you and desires to help you along the way. What a great God we serve. Can you believe the Lord loves you so much as to comfort you when in distress? Can you believe out of all the people of this earth, He makes time for you and gives you peace. Wow, our God is so compassionate. When you feel like you are in trouble, pray to God. Let Him calm your fears. Do as David did, when he prayed, 1“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble.” He did not want to face this battle on his own. He knew where that has led, in times past, and it wasn’t pretty. His trust in God is the only that that has helped him through his dark and gloomy days.
In trials, David prayed, 1“my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.” Have you ever felt this way before? Have you ever felt like nothing can go right? Whatever you do lands you in some sort of trouble? This is a reality for everyone, one time or another. Some people just get the grunt of the issues more than others. David describes his pains in more details, saying, I have 1“mingled my drink with weeping”. His sorrow filled his pillow with tears but his heart never left the Lord. This is because he knew that God would help him through anything. Any problem he faced, God would make light. He could take His hand and help Him through it. In these hard times he prayed, 1“thou, O Lord, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. Thou shalt arise, and have mercy.” This is so true. No matter the turmoil we face in life, God makes everything better. Even His presence is enough to bring us the peace we need.
Let us pray:
Lord, I am grateful for Your presence in my life. Thank You for caring so deeply for my soul. I was a wanderer most of my life but You never gave up on me. I know that Your wrath is real. I felt it in my abundant sin. But through all that, I knew that You still loved me. You didn’t want me to suffer. All I needed to do was call upon Your name in prayer and You would deliver me. And Lord, You did just that. You came to my rescue. Now I am grateful for every moment to have You in my life. Even the hard times I face now, are light because You are with me. You bring me peace when there is no peace to be found. Your love fills me with happiness and joy. Hard times are bearable for You lift me up. Thank You Lord for hearing my prayers. Thank You for Your mercy. I am honored to follow You. You are my Savior. I love You. Amen.
