There is no other place I’d rather be than in the presence of the Lord. Where the Lord abides, there is safety. His peace fills the atmosphere. God is all powerful and those that abide in Him are safe. Jesus said, 2“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.” The Bible leads us to following Jesus. He is then our Shepherd to watch over us. With God in our lives, we are safe from the evils of this world and temptation. People that try to lead us into dark paths have no power over us, for the Lord is near. Because God is with us, we can easily detect their wicked ways from God’s righteousness. It isn’t in our hearts to defile our lives with sin but live in His holiness. David taught, 1“he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” We aren’t just under the watchful eye of God but in His very shadow. 2He is with those that love Him, by word and deed. Everyone that puts their trust in God are free from the power of sin. They are led by the Spirit and not of the world. It is better to learn from God Himself than trust in our own knowledge. David was one of these men that put his hope in God. He said, 1“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” He is a great example of how to live our lives.
David was a great example of a man seeking after God’s own heart. But what if you could also live your faith out and be like David? Sure, people in scripture do help us know how to live for Christ, through their example, but what if your faith could do the same thing? God does desire each of us to live for Him also. The people that lived before us did not live uprightly to lift themselves up. To God be all the glory. Why is this? Because through their example, others also can experience the goodness of God. His love can also be felt. What a marvelous thing to see people shining a light for others to see. Through their good examples, people are coming to Jesus. If you had God in your life, you’d do the same thing. An awesome part of following Jesus is that we have a path that leads to happiness. God gives 1“his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” And this is all 1“because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation.” When you decide to live for God, His blessings are poured down from the heavens. Imaging the fullness of joy that could be in your life, if you simply decide to repent and come to Jesus. Confession can take you there. If you put your trust in the Lord, He will deliver you from all your sins. And 2“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Let us pray:
Lord, I pray for anyone that has not committed to follow You. If their faith is wavering, will You come to them and pierce their hearts, this day. Even this very hour, help them realize the danger they are in. If they are not being led by the Spirt than destruction is in their path. Lord, give them desires to come back to You. Help them truly seek You with their whole heart. I know how it is to not be all in. When my faith is lacking, I easily give into temptation and sin. My faith is not strong enough to resist temptation. It is only by following You, Lord, that helps. Continuing to read the Bible, helps me stay on the right path. Your words strengthen me. Prayer just tops it off. Thank You Lord for giving me direction. It is truly Your teachings that have led me to live uprightly. Scripture and prayer has led me to repentance and confession. Thank You for Your forgiveness and mercy. I am forever grateful. I love You. Amen.
