Today, God surely provided the way that I could share His truth with boldness. As I was chatting with a friend about sharing the good news with others on Facebook, I happened to get a knock on the door. So I told him, I’d be right back. What transpired next, I give God all the glory. To my surprise, a couple was there with their daughter. The young girl was selling girl scout cookies. I didn’t have any money on me but they got my email and such, so I could do the order online. After that, I introduced myself. They mentioned that they were neighbors of mine. I told them it was great to meet them and if they knew many people in the neighborhood. They said they knew a friend of mine that is Mormon. I then asked if they attended the Mormon Church. They said they have, in the past, but it had been a while. I explained that, not attending that church is a good thing. I was once Mormon and leaving it was the best decision of my life, as Jesus is in my life now. I no longer attend for many reasons, but one of my biggest gripes I have is with the Joseph Smith Translation (JST). I explained that other translations like the KJV, NKJV and NIV use the Aramaic, Greek or Hebrew languages to get the best possible translation of the Bible to English. However, the JST does none of this. In the JST, Joseph Smith took the KJV Bible, that we know and love, and changed 3410 verses to his liking. This, in itself, is a crime against God.
1I continued to talk with the couple and explained that the Bible clearly states, in Revelation, that if you add or take away from God’s Word that your name will be removed from the Book of Life. Since Joseph Smith did this, his name is also removed. I explained that I did not want to attend a church with a corrupted KJV Bible with JST footnotes. That is why I use the KJV Bible in its pure form. I also didn’t want to go to a church where this man, Joseph Smith, was believed to be a prophet. What this man did makes him a false prophet. We must watch out for people like him. It is important to compare religious teachings with the Bible lest we be deceived. God doesn’t want anyone to be deceived. For this reason, I felt a great desire to share the truth of God with them. I also introduced them to my Devotional Site. I explained that after leaving the LDS Church, my desire is to lead people to Jesus. I hoped they would visit my site and read the page called, “Mormon Teachings That Don’t Agree With The Bible”. Before they left, I asked if they learned anything and they said, “yes” and “thank you so much”. As they were leaving, I explained that reading the Bible often will help them decipher what is true and what is false. The Bible would lead them to Jesus and His truth. I give thanks to God for this experience. I opened my mouth and the Spirit of God filled me. To God be all the glory. God can surely do great things for those that trust in Him.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am grateful for the desire, You put in my heart, to encourage others to evangelize. It is You that gives me so much enthusiasm to witness for Your Name’s sake. I am amazed that even when I am encouraging others to do this, You then give me opportunities. I didn’t think that today would be the day, but You made a way. You know that I love to share Your good news but today You opened the doors to make this happen in a big way. I may not be the best speaker but with the Spirit in my life, I can do great things for Your glory. My simple speech can turn out to be exceptional for You are with me. Lord, thank You for using me this day to get Your message across to this wonderful couple. Thank You for opening their hearts. I am grateful for their desire to know the truth of God apart from men. May they desire to read the Bible more and more. It was a great pleasure to meet them. I pray that I will continue to be able to talk with them and help share your gospel with them. I am grateful that You can use a person like me to be Your messenger. Thank You Lord. I love You. Amen.
