The Lord Gives Us A New Heart

Jesus can surely cleanse us from all sin. He has the power to wash us from all iniquities. Only the Lord can change our heart. The Lord is capable of so much more, if we might give Him a fighting chance. When our heart is yielded to follow in His ways, we are guided. We are directed away from sin and into His glorious light. The Lord says, I will 1“sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.” If you believe in Jesus, you will be healed. Even in that very hour, he will cleanse your wicked heart. He promises, 1“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” God is always trying to get our attention. It is the wall we put up that makes us not hear Him. It takes a humble person to believe in Jesus and open their heart to Him. Even in our current state of mind, the Lord can cleanse our thoughts, if we but come to Him. If we desire to know His will for our lives, He will show us. He will 1“save you from all your uncleannesses.” You just need to admit that you are lost and are in need of a Savior and He will do the rest. If you believe this, God will do miracles in your life. This choice will lead you to do marvelous things in His sight.

You may have once had faith in God but since backslidden and gone after your own ways. In all this, your life is not over yet. You still have ample time to repent and call upon the name of the Lord. Confess your sins this day. Humble yourselves before God in sorrow and regret. In your tears, let it be known to God that you are sorry. Confess that you were wrong and want to live better but can’t do it on your own. Fall down at the feet of Jesus and plead for His mercy and grace. Ask Him to take away your stony heart. If you are sincere in your desires, He will come to you. You will know that He is God. You may not be able to walk uprightly before God now but you will be able with the Lord in your life. The Lord God hath promised, 1“I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” 2Because you are unable to dodge the temptations of the devil on your own, He will be your shield. Satan will no longer have His way within you for You are with God. You have chosen to fight on God’s side. You may be bruised in the battle, but in the end, you will come out victorious. God’s kingdom is worth fighting for. There is much fruit from these labors. Everyone on God’s side will be forever blessed. We will be welcomed with open arms into heaven.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for Your grace. Thank You for never giving up on me. You are so patient. You are so kind. You never gave up on me. You stuck with me through the long hall. Even while I was deep in sin, You continued to call upon my name. It was my stony heart that excluded You for so long. My pride and lustful heart was in the way. In my tears of regret, I came to You and You did not let me down. In my sorrows, Your peace overflowed within me. You still cared for me, though I had let You down, time and time again. I will never understand Your great love for me. Only You could cleanse me from my sins. Only You could free me from my idols. Thank You Lord. I was lost and could not find the way until You put a new Spirit inside of me. Now my eyes are opened that I might see. I can walk in Your ways, for You are there. I am saved by Your grace. I love You. Amen.

2Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
