I Call Upon God, Who Saves

I give all my praise to the king of glory. I rejoice for God has saved me. He has cut me loose from the bondage of sin. I no longer struggle with God’s laws but rejoice in following Him. It is a great privilege to be born again through the blood of Jesus. The temptations of the devil, no longer have their way inside my heart, for I am strengthened by the hand of God. The Lord hears my prayers and comes to my rescue. I will not let sin win me over but will fight against it at all costs. At any appearance of evil, I will not give way but battle against it with God on my side. I am stronger with Jesus in my life. There are those that Satan uses to make us fall off course. The devil has his hand in so many people’s lives, in our day. For this reason, we must be watchful at all costs. Those that don’t believe in God but follow in the ways of the world will be punished. David said, 1“Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings.” This is the grave reward for all unbelievers of Jesus Christ. To willfully reject Him and walk in their own ways is sending themselves on a one way ticket to hell. Let us pray for the people of this world. There is so much wickedness in the hearts of men and women. David taught, 1“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me.” God hears our cries. If we seek the Lord, in our trials, He will help fight the battle with us. 3He will never leave us alone, nor forsake us.

God’s ways are good. 4He is the meaning of all good things. The Father’s great love changes lives. What the Lord offers, people would run for, if they truly knew the meaning. The love of God has no end but only some people experience it. David spoke about those that hear God’s word but don’t do anything with it. 1“The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.” The Holy Spirit is able to speak to our hearts but we must be open to it. Pray often, that you may know God’s voice. Do not fight against the counsel of God. The longer you do so, the more distant you will become to God. It would be sad if God was calling you now but you didn’t heed the call because of the wall you have put up. Tomorrow could be your very last. If death takes hold of anyone that is living in sin and against God, they will be reckoned with. God “shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction”. The life you choose to lead for yourself or Christ will determine your outlook in heaven or hell. Don’t delay the day of your repentance. You are choosing your own punishment or blessings by whom you are living for. As David said, 1“As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.” I know that Jesus loves me. The Lord is the rock of my salvation. Jesus has forgiven my sins. I put my trust in Jesus Christ, who saves. 2The Holy Spirit has helped me put aside my fleshly nature and live a life for Christ. It is worth it. The Lord is my light and my strength. I rejoice, just to be part of God’s fold.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I can see the great wickedness in this world. People have grown cold to the things of God and have become lovers of the flesh. They don’t realize the destruction that is in their path because of the life they are leading. What saddens me the most is when these same people revile against me when I speak truth to their hearts. I am trying to help them discover a more meaningful life in You, but instead they persecute me. Lord, I pray that the hearts of my enemies may be softened. All the people that are living in habitual sin, cut them to the heart. Help them know the dangers that await them if they do not repent. Lord, I know that our faith leads us to live in Your light. I pray that more people will heed Your message of hope and jump at the opportunity to repent and get right with You. May more people have faith that moves them to live for You. You are worth living for. I trust in You, Jesus. I love You. Amen.

1Psalm 55:15-23 (KJV)
15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.
17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
20 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

2Romans 8:1-10 (KJV)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

3Hebrews 13:5,6 (KJV)
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

4James 1:12-17 (KJV)
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
