Friday Night Evangelizing

I am so grateful for such a beautiful night. It sure was glorious to be out sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people in Boise, Idaho. The four of us went out in two’s and God did great things through us. On the streets, I was giving out the “gospel of John” and many people were interested. More so, that I didn’t have enough to give to everyone I met. One person specifically responded, after receiving the booklet. I asked if he knew what Jesus did for him and he said that the Lord paid for our sins on the cross. To that I asked, what does that mean to you? He said, that we can be forgiven and be raised up from the dead in heaven because of Jesus. This man understood the importance of following Jesus. He declared the gospel message of the cross and resurrection. Praise the Lord. After talking with him, he prayed over me, that we might win more souls for Christ and I prayed that his faith might grow and that God would watch over him as he travels. It was amazing to talk with this man. I pray that his faith may continue to grow daily. I gave him my devotional card, and told him that I write in order to help people draw closer to Jesus daily, even when they aren’t at church. As I left him, he was very happy to start reading the messages and jump start his faith in Christ. Shortly after talking with this man, I noticed Keven was talking with these young kids. After he shared the gospel with them, I asked if they had a Bible and they all did but one. To him, I asked if he wanted one. To my surprise, he asked how much it costs. I said, free of course. So he took it with joy. I told him and the other boys that the more they read the Bible, the closer they will draw to the Lord.

I continued down 8th and Main, and started preaching on Matthew, chapter 4. I declared, Jesus said 1“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Confess your sins before God that you might be forgiven. 4All fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, and drunkards need to repent and come to God or else they won’t be welcomed into heaven. All Jesus asks is, 1“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” When you believe in Jesus for salvation, He will take you to new heights. You will have the power to withstand temptation. He will break every chain, that you might live for Him and not the lusts of the flesh. 3After we are born again, we have new desires to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. Shortly after preaching, these two young men responded to the message and wanted to talk. In the beginning, they were both saying how they were agnostic. My response was, anyone that reads the Bible daily and prays often can come to know God. They may not know He exists now but that can change in an instant. I declared to them the good news of the gospel, in that Jesus saves and all those that believe in Him can be forgiven. No matter how big our sins are, He will forgive us, if we repent. Even rapists and murders can be forgiven. A man that rapes a women can still discover Jesus and be saved. A women that aborts her baby can also find forgiveness as she believes in Jesus and confesses her sins. God’s mercy is for all. During this conversation, one of the guys was very passionate about what he was saying. I could see how sincere he was in his questions. Praise God that he was open to what I had to share with him. Before I left, he prayed over me, as I did over him. It was a great encounter. Thank You Jesus.

Before the night ended, I met these 4 teenage boys. As they were walking past me, I asked them if they knew about Jesus’s great love for them. In which they said, kind of. So I declared that Jesus died for their sins. That they can be forgiven if they confess their sins openly to the Lord and believe in Jesus. He is gracious to forgive and show mercy towards us. We talked about temptation and sin and how we have no power to withstand it unless Jesus is with us. Only the Lord can free us from bondage and slavery to sin. I asked if they were a good person and they all said yet. I then asked how many lies they’ve told and they said many. I then asked them what people call those that lie and they said, a liar. I then asked them if they had ever looked upon a women to lust and they said yes. I then quoted from Jesus, when He said, 2“whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” So each time a person looks at pornography, they are also committing adultery. Jesus taught, even if our 2“right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee”. So when your right hand commits sin in masturbation, cut that part out of your life. Let Jesus break those chains. I told them that under God’s standards we’d be found guilty. However, if we repent and trust in Jesus, God would be gracious to forgive us. I asked if they all had Bibles and two did not. However, I only had one Bible and one of them was gracious enough to let his friend have it. Praise God. Before leaving them, Keven came over and helped lead them in prayer. As we prayed, we each recommitted our lives to follow Jesus. What a fruitful night. Praise God for all the tracts that were passed out, all the people that were prayed over and those that gave their lives to Jesus. What an amazing time to be in God’s service.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, what a wonderful night to be in Your harvest. You led the way and so many lives were changed in an instant. I couldn’t have done it on my own. The Holy Spirit is powerful and I am amazed, that through me, it can influence lives for salvation. As Your willing vessels, You do wonders through us. Lord, You give life abundant. As I shared with those teenage boys, You truly give happiness that never ends. Your joy is eternal. A life in sin is only temporary pleasure but always accompanies guilt and shame. I am grateful, Lord, that I know You. You have blessed my life immensely. I no longer have to worry about finding joy in all the wrong places. I am complete in You. You lift me up. You bring me abundant joy. The joy found in You is eternal. Thank You for this night. What a joy it is to be in your service. May these seeds bear fruit. I love You. Amen.
