A Divine Appointment From God

If we let the Lord do a work in us He will lead us to people ready to hear His words. All it takes is a willing servant to do God’s will. When God is calling us to do something there will be obstacles in our path but it is up to us to avoid them. We can either heed the counsel of God or give in to the doubts and fears of our heart. Know that you can’t make yourself ready to serve Him on your own. You must be a humble follower to learn of His ways. Our pride must be put down to be open to what the Lord has for us. We can’t do anything to affect the salvation of a person but what the Spirit can do through us. If we are His willing messengers than He will use us for His glory. Just like God did for Jaron and I tonight. We prayed that doors would be opened and seeds would be planted and God responded. The very first door we saw, this man couldn’t stop stairing at us. As we walked up to Him he wanted to know what we had to say. In that moment, I knew that this was an appointment set from God. After introducing ourselves, we began to share the 3gospel of Jesus Christ. I spoke on sin and how we are all lost without a Savior. Nothing we can ever do can give us the fulfillment our souls truly desire. For this purpose, Jesus came down and died for our sins. If we might turn from our wickedness and follow Him then there is forgiveness. We can finally feel a love that never ends.

After this discussion, Jacob let us in. What was amazing is that his roommate, Jay, was an old friend of mine. We had lost track of each other but God reconnected us this night. As we sat down, we listened to Jacob’s belief in Darwinism. He knew about Jesus but didn’t see Him to be the only way. He even had a great understanding of Jesus and his sufferings on the cross. What we did was piece the puzzle together for him. We helped him to know that Jesus was no ordinary man. That He was God in the flesh. 2Only through our belief in Jesus can we be saved. No other man has the power to save us. No other man has the power to raise the dead. 3His resurrection did take place and many were able to witness it. We taught that our time, BC and AD, testify of Jesus. There are many beliefs out there. There are many gods in different religions but only one faith, Christianity, that speaks of a God that has power to forgive sins. Our Lord Jesus can free us from our guilt and shame and bring us into His light. We are either walk in His light or in the darkness. 1We are either on His path or on the wide path to destruction. Our message was that Jesus is the way to eternal life. Sure, he had his doubts on things but he listened intently to our message and what Jay and the other man’s wife said. As we spoke, Jacob told us how different it was when we spoke to him. He loved how we didn’t argue but had a conversation with him. He said he learned so much and was just drawn to the message. After hearing this, we told him that it was the Lord that speaks through us.

Near the end, we encouraged him to start reading with Jay the gospel of John. Then next week, we can talk about it and then share another message of hope with them from the Bible. In this, they thought was awesome. Before we left, I asked if we could all pray. So without hesitation, we all took each other’s hands and prayed. Each of us poured out our hearts to God. I thanked God for His mercy. I thanked the Lord for giving these people open hearts to talk to us. Jacob also prayed and asked that Jesus would be there for him. Our hearts were all given to God in worship. After the prayer, Jacob expressed how amazing he felt inside. He couldn’t even describe the great joy he was feeling. He said It overwhelmed him with great joy. What an amazing time this was. I know that only God could have set this up for us. We were directed to come to this door for a reason. God prepared it and it was His divine appointment. I had lost track of my friend Jay but now I have an opportunity to fellowship with him once again. I am so grateful for that.

Let us pray:
Thank You Lord for this opportunity to share the gospel. I could have done so many other things tonight but instead I followed You and am so grateful I did. I didn’t understand the reason why You beckoned me to go out tonight but now I know. You have high hopes for the people of this home. I lift up Jacob and Jay to you tonight. May your peace fall down upon them, this week. Be with them. Until we meet again, in a week, give them desires to seek You and to know Your will. I trust in You Lord. I love You. Amen.

1Matthew 7:13,14 (KJV)
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

2John 3:15-17 (KJV)
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

31 Corinthians 15:1-8 (KJV)
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
