Our Great Protector

If we trust in God, He will be with us. As we pray, He will be near to our hearts. We will have the greatest protector by our side. The King of Glory is here to watch over and protect us. He is our shield and will defend us from temptation and harm’s way. The Holy Spirit is here to lead and guide us. If we listen to the counsels of God we will grow spiritually. We will be led to do greater things in this life. The Lord can see through our lives and the things we can accomplish if we follow Him. Jacob had just listened to the Lord and left to the land of his fathers. He knew He’d be protected and left in an instant. He had confidence in God’s promises. It was because of Jacob’s faith that God told Laban, “Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.” Therefore there was no harm done to Jacob. He was protected. The Lord has power to lift us out of harm’s way if we believe in Him.

The Lord loves His children. He can see through our busy lives and knows who truly loves Him. His faithful sings praises to His Name. They lift Him up in worship because of their great love for Him. There is nothing in life like their time in the Word for they grow closer to God through every word. It’s our faith in Christ that brings us deliverance from the evil one. Our hearts are given over to the Lord and He is able to do mighty miracles in our lives. Oh Lord, your counsels are wise. I trust in You. I love it when you speak to me. Through your great wisdom I am made glad. You bring tidings of great joy to my soul. You are everything to me. My heart is overwhelmed by your great love. You are my devotion. My feet are on solid ground. You are my rock and firm foundation. You are my strength. I will bless your Name forevermore. You have my heart. I love You with all my heart and soul.

Genesis 31:22-29
22 And Laban was told on the third day that Jacob had fled.
23 Then he took his brethren with him and pursued him for seven days’ journey, and he overtook him in the mountains of Gilead.
24 But God had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, “Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.”
26 And Laban said to Jacob: “What have you done, that you have stolen away unknown to me, and carried away my daughters like captives taken with the sword?
27 Why did you flee away secretly, and steal away from me, and not tell me; for I might have sent you away with joy and songs, with timbrel and harp?
28 And you did not allow me to kiss my sons and my daughters. Now you have done foolishly in so doing.
29 It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.’
