“Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” (Isaiah 49:1-3) – About 700–681 B.C.

“And again: Hearken, O ye house of Israel, all ye that are broken off and are driven out because of the wickedness of the pastors of my people; yea, all ye that are broken off, that are scattered abroad, who are of my people, O house of Israel. Listen, O isles, unto me, and hearken ye people from far; the Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; And said unto me: Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” (1 Nephi 21:1-3) – About 588–570 B.C.

The King James Version of Isaiah, chapter 49, was copied and pasted into the Book of Mormon. This chapter of Isaiah can be found in 1 Nephi, chapter 21. The book of Isaiah and 1 Nephi are also available to read in the next chapters of this book. Details of what took place can be found below…

Something that should make any Christian very upset is to see people plagiarize the Bible. Changing the beauty of original verses is deceitful and makes me sick. How can someone blatantly change God's Word in order to fit their belief system? This is telling God that they don’t care about what He’s spoken, but what they believe is what is most important. This is true of the Book of Mormon from start to finish. Tragically many Mormons do not realize it. One of the plagiarized comes from 1 Nephi, chapter 21 when compared to Isaiah, chapter 49. Almost an entire paragraph was added. Joseph Smith attempted to alter this chapter in Isaiah, as evidenced by comparing the text from Isaiah and the Book of Mormon. It is written, “listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” (Isaiah 49:1-3) This is how these verses are meant to be read.

You have just read Isaiah, chapter 49, verses 1 through 3. This is in its pure form, when compared to the plagiarized version in the Book of Mormon. The corrupted version reads, “and again: Hearken, O ye house of Israel, all ye that are broken off and are driven out because of the wickedness of the pastors of my people; yea, all ye that are broken off, that are scattered abroad, who are of my people, O house of Israel. Listen, O isles, unto me, and hearken ye people from far; the Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; And said unto me: Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” (1 Nephi 21:1-3) Notice the sentences in bold that were added to the text. Speaking of this corruption, we need Solomon's reminder of what happened. He said, “every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5,6) Truly, Joseph Smith is in hot water with God. He deceived people on purpose by plagiarizing the Biblical text and is a blatant liar. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people in Mormonism will repent and get right with You today. There is still time for them to come out of darkness and be saved. Your light is just around the corner, but false beliefs are keeping them from entering. I feel sorry that they have been lied to since the beginning by their first prophet, Joseph Smith. He didn’t start a religion but a cult that leads people to hell. Lord, how have these people fallen for the lies of their many false prophets? It doesn’t matter that they look religious on the outside. What they believe in and do in their evil temples are despicable and an abomination in Your sight. I can’t stand to even think about what they are doing for dead people. This evil practice needs to be exposed, lest more people die and go to hell. I have seen Mormons leave this cult, but it was like pulling teeth at times for some. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is with me, and they were convicted of their sins. I am only Your servant, God. Use me to bring more people out of a lifestyle that is dark and going nowhere. May those who are blind see. May their callous hearts be softened. You can do all things, God. I believe in You. You have the power to heal and change people's lives. I love You. Amen.
