It was after God’s two anointed ones finished their work on earth, that they were killed like Jesus was, while also rising from the grave. As they rose, they were called up to be with God in the clouds. This brought about earthquakes in that city, which killed many people. At this point, the wicked were fleeing for their lives, while God’s people were rejoicing. These believers in Christ “gave glory to the God of heaven.” (Revelation 11:13) This brings us to the seventh trumpet. Starting with verse 15 in Revelation, chapter 11, it reads, “and the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.” (Revelation 11:15-17) Imagine looking up into the skies and seeing the heaven opened up, where 24 elders were sitting before God on His throne. And then hearing the most beautiful praises to the Lord God. Jesus is our King, who reigneth forever and ever. As they worshipped God, they glorified His Name and proclaimed that He is one who came and is to come again. Jesus has taken His great power and reigns supreme. Amen. I say this in unison also to my Lord.
It was after the 24 elders began to praise the Lord, who is Jesus, that John sees the different nations on earth and how God’s wrath is upon them. Every wicked person will see this when they eventually die and are judged by Jesus. And people who are not for Him will be punished in the lake of fire. No matter who the person is, the color of their skin, the language they speak, they will get what is coming to them if they did not give their lives to follow Jesus. Where saints of God, who are Jesus’s true believers, will obtain His rewards. The greatest reward would be to be with Him, our God, in heaven and the new earth. All this was seen, along with God’s holy temple. The ark of the testament was seen therein with lightings and thunderings, hail, and earthquakes. You can read this in verse 18 of this chapter. It reads, “and the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.” (Revelation 11:18,19) What a wonderful vision this was. If you are a believer in Jesus, then know that He will reward you in the next life to come. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that Your people, who are the Jews and Gentiles who believe in You, will endure in their faith. It is a great shame to know that people who once loved and served You have now gone astray. But just like the prodigal son, I am praying for their safe return, even into Your loving arms. I don’t want people to miss the boat, like those of old did during the times of Noah. But this time will we meet You in the clouds, Jesus. What a time this will be when You call upon Your angels to gather us to be with You. I can’t wait for this day, for I will finally be safe from my enemies on earth. You are my righteous king and all my worries and fears are over when You are in my life. So what a time this will be when I am finally in Your presence for all eternity. This is all I desire. You are the bridegroom who has come for Your church. Thank You for coming for us all, who love You, especially me. I still wonder how You could have chosen and loved a person like me. You are so patient with me, Lord. I have betrayed You so many times in my life, and still, You extend Your mercy towards me. I hope You know that I am so grateful for Your forgiveness, though I don’t always deserve it. It is Your mercy and grace that has carried me out of my wicked lifestyle and into Your light. And it is my continued prayer that You will lead me now and forever from temptation. I live for You, my Lord, and my King. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
