Sola Scriptura Is Biblically Sound

Sola Scriptura means that the Bible is the only infallible rule for theology. We know the Bible to be inerrant, meaning that scripture is from the original manuscripts and free from error. If contradictions are seen, this is easily disputed when understanding the context of the verses and why things are written down the way they are. There is an unparalleled authority in God’s Word, the Bible, than in any other book on earth. We know this from what the Biblical authors have said of their writings and ancient manuscripts. How the Bible is inspired by God, which is where doctrines from God come from. Paul said, “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16,17) How the Bible was written down by men who were influenced by the Holy Spirit, therefore it can be trusted. “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:20,21)

Jesus said that the Bible is unbreakable, and that is why it has continued the test of time. It is written, “scripture cannot be broken.” (John 10:35) People error in their own beliefs not knowing the Bible and what it teaches. “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” (Matthew 22:29) Tradition begins to influence what people believe in and, therefore, it creates false doctrines when the Bible is not used. Jesus even rebuked the Pharisees because there supposed doctrines were simply traditions that they had made over time, not being of God. “But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?” (Matthew 15:3) “And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.” (Matthew 15:6) The Bible is the final court of appeal and we can fully trust the Bible and put it above any other books that people may say is from God. Truly, fewer man-made doctrines would be believed if the Bible was put ahead of everything we believe in. Therefore, Sola Scriptura is of God and I hold to it. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people would trust in the Bible above other books on earth. There are many false prophets that would are leading people to read their own books instead of the Bible on a daily basis. Lord, I have seen this in many cults, like Mormonism, that push their Book of Mormon instead of the Bible. For this reason, their church members and leaders now say that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth, while saying we cannot trust everything in the Bible. However, I give You thanks for helping me understand the importance of scripture and not to believe in every form of doctrine that people may say is from You. I once errored not knowing what the Bible says, but now it is more clear each day that I read from the Bible what is true. Lord, these man-made teachings are even more evil than traditional teachings of the past. God, I rebuke every form of false teaching in cults that come from false teachers. The teaching of baptisms for the dead is man-made. Eternal marriage is a demonic teaching. Exaltation to Godhood is from Satan’s own mouth. Disbelieving in hell and the lake of fire is the reason why people end up in this place. Help them Lord. I trust in You, God. I love You. Amen.
