There is one sin that is leading many people to hell and it is “UNFORGIVENESS”. Even Christians will not go to heaven because of this sin. You may be thinking to yourself, how I must be out of my mind to say such things. But in reality, I am speaking the truth of God. My friends, what I am speaking of comes from the mouth of Jesus. In the Lord’s own words He said, “for if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14,15) Think about what I quoted for a few minutes. Now think about your life. Are you holding grudges against people or are people who have offended you forgiven? Depending upon your response, you are either saved or unsaved. The truth is, a person can act very religious on the outside, but also very dark on the inside. Every day of our lives is examined by God. We are either clean or filthy. So let God judge you now, that you may become clean while you still have time.
The more a person bottles up revenge, while speaking badly about a person because of what they have done, a cloud of unforgiveness is driving them farther and farther away from God. And the sad thing is, you are left unforgiven of your sins. So how are we forgiven? It is when we confess and forsake our sins to God and mankind. We don’t continue to do the same things we have done before, but give it all to God. We may be unable to remove these sins from our lives, but Jesus is able to. Putting our trust in Him can move mountains. Even the sin of unforgiveness can be ripped out of our chest once and for all. As we call upon the Father to forgive us, we now freely forgive others who have offended us. God forgiving us convicts us on the inside. We now desire to make the debts clean for people in our lives also. They don’t have to say sorry, for what they have done is behind us now. This message is for every person who says they love the Lord. Now show this same love towards others, lest His love is not upon you also. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, help us to learn to forgive others. Come and dissolve every bit of unforgiveness from our hearts. As we long for Your forgiveness and mercy, help us to forgive others in the same fashion. Not only this, God, but help us to never put up walls in our lives. And if there is any that is left up now, tear them down, peace by peace, once and for all. God, not every person in our lives will tell us sorry for what they have done and I understand this fact. But what I do know is that Your forgiveness helps me learn to freely forgive others in a similar fashion. These people may not be repentant for their sins, but as for me, I will show them love anyway. Truly, I am saddened when I hear stories of people saying such mean and cruel things about others behind their backs. This aggravates my soul, for this unforgiveness is pushing them away from that person and You. Do they not realize what they are doing is wrong? Have they not read the scriptures which say that You will not forgive us if we do not forgive others their trespasses? I believe in You, Jesus. Thank You for helping me learn how to forgive. I love You. Amen.
Anger, bitterness and unforgiveness will destroy us. The Holy Spirit can help us forgive as we have been forgiven.
