Ask God To Cleanse You Of Secret Faults

Ask the Lord God to keep you upright in His sight. That no more will secret sins be a part of who you are in His kingdom. Willful sins will destroy your relationship with God, and therefore, need to be removed from our lives altogether. These types of sins can be doing drugs, getting drunk, looking at pornography, masturbating, having homosexual desires, having sex outside of marriage, and having relations with another person while married. All of these things are evil and vial in God’s sight. Therefore, come to Jesus about these addictions and bad habits and allow Him to break those chains. Come to God humbly in prayer and pray like David did and say, 1“who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins ; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:12-14) And if your heart is sincere before God, then You will gain the power of God in your life like never before. Even the kind of power that will help you fight against the temptations of the evil one and actually win the battles. My friend, we don’t have to give in to the lies of Satan, which leads to destruction and hell, for we are victorious in Christ Jesus, who gives us new life. Our life without Jesus may be tarnished in sin and shame, but with Jesus in our lives, we are renewed and washed clean. Therefore, we are no longer held under condemnation by God, for we are forgiven and His hand of mercy is extended towards us.

Paul said, 2“know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-12) And here we have a list of sins that were plaguing even the church at that time. We know this since his message was towards the church in Corinth. What we see here are people who were into fornication, which is sex outside of marriage, and adultery, which is being involved with someone who is married. Adultery is also lusting on someone as Jesus said. Other people who Paul mentioned were homosexuals, those who were effeminate in nature and abusers of themselves with mankind, which is when a man lies with another man and a woman lies with another woman. He also mentions people who were into alcohol and got drunk. Now, as mentioned, many of these things and other things like pornography, and masturbation, happen in secret. People think that nobody can see what they are doing, but God can. My friends, pray that God will cleanse you of all your sins and turn you to follow Him. Repentance is not a bad thing but a gift from God. It helps us become clean with God. Then, can we rightfully enter the kingdom of God.

Sinner’s Prayer:
Oh Lord, I pray for cleansing. That every sin that I have committed this week will be forgiven. Cleanse thou me of every secret fault. I am sorry for going against Your will. Forgive me. My desire is to no longer fall victim to the same temptation again. Lord, I know that I am not able to withstand my fleshly desires on my own, so please be with me, that I may not fall victim to the same sins over and over again. I feel so shameful and guilt-ridden each time that I fall and I wish that You would do something in my life, so that being sinful may no longer be who I am anymore. I wish to live for You and not this world. So give me clean hands and a pure heart. Redeem me from my past life and renew me in this new life that You have set before me. Remove every false belief and speak truth to my soul. Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit. Allow the Spirit to lead me on Your righteous path. Put in me Your glorious light, that all the darkness will be scattered. It is my desire to no longer walk as the world walks, but to be different. Allow me to become a peculiar and a holy person in Your sight. My desire is to lead souls unto You and no longer lead them astray. My bad example will only destroy people’s chances of knowing You, so please help me to be led by Your great example. Come inside of me, that people will see Your light in me and glorify our Father in heaven. I believe in You, Lord. I worship You and give You praise. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
