As someone that desires to come to Christ or continue in the faith, it is vital for that person to be open to God and His counsel, lest he or she falls. And when a person falls it is never good. Drugs, alcohol and pornography are just a few of the evils that come into a person’s life, when this happens. It then very hard for them to stop. Since so many people have fallen away from Jesus, it shows how evil this world has become. Though the Lord has attempted, time and time again, to reach these people, the hardness of their hearts has stopped His hand. They’ve denied God’s wisdom and instead, chosen to live for their own desires. Please understand that 1“where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” We can only be led to safety if God is directing us. God’s counsel leads us to obtain mercy from God and to also shows the same to others. Once God forgives them of their sins, they are also compelled to forgive others when they are offended. It is important to know that 1“the merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.” To not show mercy, but anger, also negates God’s forgiveness for your sins. 2“If ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” It is important to be led by God and allow His love to come inside of us. This way, we will do what is right and put away what is evil. 1“As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.”
To continue to do our your things and not be led by God is evil in the sight of God. This is denying His hand in your life and because of this, His wrath is upon you until you repent. 1“They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.” To know of God’s counsel but continue to live in sin is so wrong. God counts this lifestyle not only evil but abominable. God has specific commands for us to live by, but it is the hardness of people’s hearts that they do not do what God has to say. Please understand that people will be accountable for their decisions in life. Therefore, 1“the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.” You have two extremes here. One group of people that continue to live a life on their own and another that has the Holy Spirit of God in their lives. When God leads us away from temptation, we are able to have clean thoughts. The Holy Spirit is what leads us to do what is good. Our own decisions are unstable and therefore we cannot stop sinning without God’s assistance. This is when God’s wrath comes into play. 1“The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.” There is only wrath when a person does not repent, but this all changes when a person confesses their sins to God. This is when His mercy comes into play and the person becomes justified and sanctified in the sight of God. May God change any wickedness in your heart today.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that everyone that calls themselves Christians will have a true desire to learn from You. Yes, Lord, may they open their hearts to You fully and no longer deny Your counsel for their lives. Come inside us all and cast out all wickedness. Bring to light what needs to be changed and give us a desire to do whatever it takes to be made clean. If it is changing what we love to do in life, may our desires be moved to do give it up, if it is not pleasing You. Please cut lose any addictions from our lives. I know that sin grieves the Spirit and Your presence cannot be inside of me if I continue to sin. I need Your cleansing dear Lord. I need Your protection. You are my healer and friend. I trust in You. Take me out of all darkness and lead me into Your light. Take my hand and use me to do Your will. What You have to teach me is wise and I accept it. I need Your wisdom to know where to go in life. Take me now Lord, out of wickedness and all sin and lead me in Your righteousness. I love You. Amen.
