Bad things do happen to all of us, at different times in our life. Some of you are doing just fine now while others are having a very difficult time. Death may have come into the family and take somebody you really love. You may have lost a job that you were counting on, in order to make rent on your house or apartment. Your marriage is going downhill and nothing you have tried is helping. You may be struggling with an addiction, that for the life of you, you cannot get rid of. These are just four things that most people struggle with. God never said that we would not struggle in life. Everyone has to go through things that they wish they did not, however, the Lord can help us through it. Only He can bring peace into our lives and heal our hearts, so that we don’t fear the worst. God’s Word says to 1“be not afraid of sudden fear.” We are also not to fear death, when the wicked will be punished. 1“For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” If God is with us, we have no fear but have hope in Him. But understand that to be right with God we must also abide in Him. When the Holy Spirit says to help another person in need, do so without thinking twice. And do so with a loving heart. A grudging heart will never help you in your life with God. 1“Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.” Think about what this says and give freely, as God does such things for us. As the Lord is with you, then also show the love towards your neighbor.
A Christian will not choose to do harm towards another person but show kindness instead. We pray that our speech is uplifting and our actions are considerate to other people’s needs. And God helps us do so. God asks that you 1“devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.” If you do not seek God on a regular basis, then you may fall and treat someone unfairly. This only causes untrust to form in our relationships. Ask God to help you treat others the same as you’d like to be treated. Do not allow Satan to stir your heart, for it only leads to sadness and misery. 1“Choose none of his ways” and instead live for God. This decision will help you be unaffected when people become difficult in their actions around you. 1“The froward is abomination to the Lord”, but we can pray that these people also repent and come to Christ for forgiveness and mercy. 1“The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.” Therefore, we plead for these people in prayer, that they come out of the world and choose to follow Jesus. People may scorn us for doing so but some of them will come around to God. There open heart to Him will allow His Spirit to change them from within. God 1“giveth grace unto the lowly.” There is only shame for the fools that deny to believe in Jesus to salvation. But the wise will be blessed and live again in heaven. There is only joy and peace in God’s kingdom but pain and suffering for the unrighteous in hell. Choose the path, you want to follow, today!
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that as Christians, we also live out our faith. When we know we ought to do something and do not, help us remember to repent and make things right with You. Help us to remember to say sorry when we hurt one another. So many times, do we let fear get the best of us also, when we do things on our own. If we just knew that You are there, the whole time, to give us rest, we’d be so much better off. Help us to look to You at all times. I put my trust in You, Lord. I know that times are hard but You can make things better. You bring peace into my life when there is only strife. You help me show love and compassion to others in need. My heart is full of love when You are near but full of discord when I pull away. Help me to keep you by my side always. May the evil one not have control over me. May His temptations be no match to Your presence in my life. You make me stronger. You make me a better person. I am changed by Your love, each and every day of my life. Thank You Lord. I love You. Amen.
