Trust In God Over Yourself

There is one thing that God desires of each of us in the faith. We are to remember His ways and keep them always. 2The day that we decide to give our lives to Jesus is also the day that we allow this second birth to occur. We allow the Spirit to take control of our lives, that we may be born again in the Spirit. We are not capable of keeping all of God’s commandments on our own but with the Lord’s help we can. Let us think about our lives and if we are living for God now. We may have said we would obey Him, the day we gave our lives to Him, but is it so now? If you were to hear God’s voice, would He say, 1“my son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments”? If you are a women, you can also replace son with daughter. It is only when we remember God’s laws and keep them, is when we have 1“length of days, and long life, and peace” added to us. We are to also remember the cross and our merciful God. 1“Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart.” Obey God’s commandments and also confess your sins, that you have mercy. Everyone that does this, will 1“find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.” Why is this? Because they are not seeking their own ways but the will of God. His ways are higher and to be sanctified in the Lord is most important. You will also learn from God when you pray and read God’s Word, in the Bible. God’s teachings will penetrate your when, when you do this.

If your focus is on God, you won’t help it but desire to live by His laws. By doing so, you are showing your trust in Him above all else. Only through God’s help are you capable of living a life for Him, outside this world. Come to the Lord now and 1“trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Give everything to Him. Truly allow yourself to learn from God. If you will just 1“acknowledge him”, 1“he shall direct thy paths.” These promises are true. With everything you have been given in life, allow God to help you use them. Allow God to help you along the way. By doing so, you will be greatly blessed. Understand that this new path may be different than what you are used to. If you are in the wrong, about anything, do not get upset but allow God to give you greater understanding. 1“Despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction.” When the Lord gives you counsel, it is for good. 1“For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.” Allow Him to lead you away from what is wrong and to what is right. It is taught that 1“happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.” This person is happy, for their salvation is secure in Jesus, their Savior. Please know that deciding your own life, when the Bible teaches differently, is despising God’s counsel. Please do not fall victim to this. It is very dangerous to your soul. Lean unto God and You will have no need to fear.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know that I have resisted Your ways for many years in my life, but I am so sorry. I thought I had it all correct in my own mind, but I was so wrong. Really, I was in darkness and so far gone. I never truly had knowledge that saves but head knowledge only. My thoughts were filled with other teachings outside Your word, the Bible. I pray that I may never become a fool to myself and my own thinking any longer. Teach me of your ways. Open my mind to Your understanding. If I am ever in the wrong, in my way of thinking or the way I live my life, please make mention of it in my heart and mind. Pierce me to the very soul that I may know that I am off base. I never want to leave Your side any longer. You are my God and I trust in You. To have Your chastening is a blessing to my life. I know that only You can lead me to heaven. May my thoughts and desires be always for You. Help me to live my life in Your will. Your ways are better. I am willing to leave anything that is contrary to You. I love You more. Amen.
