Though we may declare ourselves Christian, if we aren’t walking in faith, God isn’t with us. “The goodness of God leadeth” us to repentance but sin pushes us away from Him. The Lord never wants to leave us but our sins distances us away from Him. If we continue to live only partially for the Lord than our faith will be in vain. “For there is no respect of persons with God”. We are either for Him or against Him. Many say that they believe in Jesus Christ but few live what they believe. Their hearts aren’t in it fully for God and therefore their salvation is in jeopardy. They are treasuring up the wrath of God in the life to come. His love and mercy will not always strive among us if we continue to cast Him out. Falling and falling back into the same rut will lead our prayers into deaf ears. The Lord knows our true intentions. When we let sin enter our doors we are no longer walking in faith. We are giving ourselves up to our own personal cravings even if it is contrary to God. If there is lust in your heart, cast it out.
God is looking for a change within us. He is looking for those that desire to do good. Those people that are willing to take a leap of faith. He will lead the hearts of many that give their lives to Him. Please take a look at the life you are living. If it isn’t for God than reach for Him. Give Him your undivided attention. No longer let sin rip the Holy Spirit away from you. This loss you are feeling in your heart is not what Jesus desires. Repent and forsake your sins. Cry out for His forgiveness. Let Him heal your hearts. As you love the Lord, His forgiveness will fall upon you. His mercy will give you comfort. He will free you from your sins. Though we have been so wretched in His sight, He will wash us clean. Oh Lord, I need You. You give me hope for a new day. Teach me to always rise to You. My desire is eternal life in your Kingdom. I will no longer live part way for You but with my whole heart. Take everything I am. Lead me to do good. I trust in You. I love You.
Romans 2:4-11 (KJV)
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
