Since the beginning of time, God has called His people to confess and forsake their sins. Only then can the blood of the Lamb cover their sins and make them whole. What this means is that we acknowledge that what we have done is wrong and confess it before God. Then, upon asking the Lord for help to overcome it, He will begin to lead You from temptation and make You strong to resist the desires of the flesh. It is written, “and the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the Lord, and that person be guilty; Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed. But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the Lord, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.” (Numbers 5:5-8) Jesus is the Lamb who atoned for us on the cross.
In heaven, there is no sin that abounds there. God is holy and people make it there have been made holy in this life through the blood of Jesus. We cannot be made right by our own merits, but by what Christ can do in and through our lives. There is a spiritual washing that takes place where forgiveness and mercy are given freely. This is because our confessions are heard by God and we are cleansed from our unrighteousness. John said, “if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:6-10) Therefore, I invite you all to lay down your sins at the feet of the cross. There is so much peace and such a relief when our burdens are finally lifted off of us. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will convict people of their sins before death. Most people die in their sinful state which is very sad. If they just had faith in You, Jesus, would their life on earth have been different. Surely, people don’t understand the need to be born again, while some laugh and scoff when we say that we are born again. Do they not realize that this means that we are cleansed by Your blood, Jesus, and are now able to walk differently through the Holy Spirit? If more people understood what being born again means, they would jump at the opportunity. For nobody can be made holy unless You make us holy first, God. There is no goodness in me besides what You are able to do in and through me. If I am able to achieve anything that is noteworthy, then You have done it all. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is awesome to have Spirit with me at all times and in places. I would never wish to grieve the Spirit through the lusts of the flesh and the pride of the eyes. Therefore, I die daily in the Lord. You are worth living for. You have given me breath and I will use it to give You praise. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
