In the world we live in, there is so much filth on TV. The shows and movies that are popular among the different households do not glorify God but have nothing to do with Him. This content is easy to access as Satan intended, but it comes at a cost. Instead of seeking God first and receiving His blessings, You receive instant gratification that has destruction coming at the end. In reality, people that watch TV on a regular basis are really not for God at all on the inside. This is because they have allowed their souls to be hypnotized by the things they watch. It is like a witch doctor putting a spell on someone, but people at large allow this to happen by themselves. People are given over to their lusts and the same things happen when people watch episode after episode, movie after movie. The lines in these shows and movies even become a part of their speech, which is scary. So what does this mean when it comes to the Christian community? We can either use TVs for God or not. Look at churches at large, they put on the big screen the pastor speaking. There are many good ministries for God on YouTube to watch also. Even some good Jesus films that will lead You to seek the Lord daily. So am I for people getting rid of their TVs? Yes. Am I for them keeping them for the purpose to use them sparingly and for the sake of knowing God? Yes.
People have way too many TVs, so getting rid of a few at a time is very good for the soul. This gives us much more time for God and doing His will and not our own. Where we had little or no time to pray, attend a prayer group, read the Bible, go to a Bible study, attend a church class, evangelize, visit those in prison and nursing homes, go on mission trips, become a pastor, elder, teacher in your church, there is plenty of time now. I can see this clearly, for TV is no longer something I have to have. If I tune into it, it is solely to watch a new church ministry or listen to Christian music. “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:31-33) I didn’t mention video games, but these can be even more detrimental to our souls than what we watch. Playing such filth is now interacting with the demonic. My friends, no longer have this be You. The Lord wants to use you for His kingdom, but many things need to change first. Are you ready to be used by God in a mighty way? Salvation can still come. Jesus will awaken you to righteousness. Amen.

Oh Lord, I pray that more people will be able to stop watching TV, along with playing video games, for Your sake. Is consuming the content on TV seeking You first? No. This world is dark and most of the evils of this world can be found in the shows and movies that people watch. It is even more so with video games. Lord, these people do not realize this, but they have been slowly hypnotized over the years by the devil. He knows exactly what the flesh likes, immodesty, sex, drugs, alcohol, killing, witchcraft, magic, and the demonic realm. Therefore, with all the people who consume content like this, it is easy to say that there is a broad way to destruction and hell, where most people will find it. On the other hand, there is a straight and narrow gate that leads to life eternal with You, Jesus, in heaven. I often wonder if people really want to go to heaven. If people are among those who consume hours of TV, plus video games where is their heart? They are addictions and to give them up for Your sake takes a lot of courage and commitment. Thankfully, You have done this with me. If I watch TV, it is to see You in ministry or song. Nothing else has my heart but the things that come down from heaven and into our lives. Fill me, Lord. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
