Do You Love Or Hate God’s Counsel?

If you say you love God then you also give ear to understanding. Even when there is chastening involved you accept it. Look at yourself and see if you are allowing God to change you for the better or not. Know that 1“a wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.” Bad things happen when we give into our own desires and deny God’s counsel. Humble yourself and understand that God knows best for your life. He loves us so much as to speak truth to our hearts. 1“He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.” As you can see, God does love us all so much as to help us know when to repent, that we may be led from darkness and onto the right path. Humbleness is the key to a spirit filled life. Lowering our pride, in this way, is how we learn from God. 1“By pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.” Pride is very toxic and needs to be extinguished in order to be made right with God and know His will. Our fleshly desires are what gives us over to sin willfully and despise what God’s Word says about our lives. For that reason, we must come to God in prayer and ask Him to change our wicked hearts. 1“Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” I pray that you will make a wise choice, this day, to fear God and to obey His counsel.

A big reason why most people deny the counsels of God is that they are lazy or simply OK with their lives. These are those that do not want to put the time and effort in to follow Jesus. 1“The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.” These people do not have anything right going for them and the reason is, they did not make the effort. And why do some not go the extra mile to be changed by God? It is because they take it as a hard thing. They do not understand that being changed by the Lord God does not have to be hard. If they were open to the Lord God, then they would delight in His counsel and do as He says. 1“Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” God knows of these two people groups. The one that loves His counsel and walks in His ways and the other that knows of His counsel but disregards it. The one that takes in God’s wisdom, and allows His hand to change their life is greatly honored. But the other person that denies God’s wisdom, and does not allow His hand to change their life is put to shame. 1“Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.” This shame will continue until your heart is given over to Jesus. 1“The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” We are brought from death to life in Christ Jesus.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that hearts may be softened this day. May You come and cast aside all our pride. Humble us dear Lord. May Your wise counsel come inside of us. Give way into our hearts Your desires for our lives. We are listening Lord and desire to know of Your will for us now. If we have denied Your chastening before, we are sorry. We do not wish to deny You further. Speak to us and rebuke us, if needs be. We want to know where we stand before You God. And if we are unclean, break the bonds of sin and lead us from darkness and into Your light. We no longer wish to live a life of shame and guilt any longer. We wish to be made clean through Your blood, Lord Jesus. I confess that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. Have mercy upon my soul. Lead me away from temptation and strengthen my faith. May I stand above what is evil and lift up Your Name for all to hear. I know that You can change our lives. Thank You for coming into my life. You have healed my wicked heart. I am restored through Your great compassion for my life. Thank You for loving for me. I am so honored to have You in my life. I love You. Amen.
