There are times in life that we forget the Lord. We forget how wonderful it was to be born again. He had opened our eyes to His glory and we were steadfast in following Him. However, we didn’t prioritize our time and didn’t put forth enough effort to follow Him. Soon we only had time to pray but there was no time for the Word of God. As times went on, our church attendance was low and we didn’t pray as often. We eventually lost sight of God. During our trying times it seemed like nobody could help us. We felt like giving up in life. The Lord’s promises felt so far away to imagine them coming true. Deep down we knew God was good but didn’t see his will in our lives. We had given up to much to follow God now. If God wasn’t fulfilling our needs we would just substitute it with something else. Soon, our lusts turned into addictions. Things that we thought we’d never do we’ve committed. A life that was once free in the blessings of God is now tied down by the chains of sin. If any of you have gone down this path, come back to God. There is still hope. We don’t have to live alone. God’s grace is sufficient for our every need. He offers us the fullness of joy if we might trust in Him. There is nothing this world can offer that comes close to His love. We can find rest in the Lord. He will turn our sorrows into joy.
Sarai was an example of not trusting in God when it mattered most. She was so upset that she was of old age and was never was able to have kids. God promised her a child but she didn’t see it ever happening. So she told Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” She did the unthinkable. To fulfill her needs of having a child she had her husband commit adultery with another woman. Our lustful desires are not worth the consequences of sin. All this leads to is pain and suffering. Sarai once had a good relationship with her handmaid but after Hagar bore a son she was “despised in her eyes.” Their relationship was never the same again. I want you to know that there is nothing we can do that the Lord won’t forgive. We might have lost faith in Him but He has never given up on us. Follow the Lord and Let your old life fade away. Come to God and be born again in His love. There is nothing that compares to the joy you will feel in the Lord. If you trust in His Him He will never let you down. I was lost but have now been found. God took me back and showed mercy upon me. I love You Lord. Thank you for your amazing grace. As times get hard I will come to You. I know You will never let me down.
Genesis 16:1-4
1 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar.
2 So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.
3 Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.
4 So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes.
