Each of us, after hearing or reading the Word of God, understands the importance of living by God’s words. God’s Word impacts our hearts and leads us to live by His will. The commandments become more important than ever to obey. Our hearts may even say, 1“The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” When the words of the Bible penetrate us deep down they become meaningful to us. They are delightful to read and understand. This is the life of the believer for the Spirit of God has penetrated our hearts. Those in the flesh stumble through life. They may hear the Word of God in church but are given to their fleshly nature during the week, for God isn’t with them. Their hearts don’t follow after God’s will but their own desires. There are two kinds of people in life. Those that walk in the spirit and those that walk in the flesh. The spirit will lead us to eternal life in heaven. The fleshly nature will lead us to destruction in hell. 1“The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.” If you truly feared God you would let Him change your life. The wrath of God is over all people that would rather live in sin than let God tear that sin from their lives.
There is a warning to all people living outside God’s grace. Time is of utmost importance. The longer we delay our repentance the further off we will be from God. Come unto Jesus before it is too late. Obey the commandments and do His will. 1“Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” There is blessings in heaven for the righteous of God. If you are in sin, come to God in prayer and say, 1“cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” If you have prayed that prayer, like David did, the Lord will help you. Your open heart will allow the Lord to cleanse you from sin. You will begin to have clean thoughts. Your words will be more uplifting to one another. Your secrets will come to life in order to change your life. Your confessions will make you stronger for God. What you think is impossible, God can make happen in your life. He is all powerful and helps change anyone’s evil nature that comes to Him. The power to be born again is God’s and only He can do this for our salvation.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, lead me by the hand. Help us do thy will. Our flesh is weak but Your Spirit is stronger. I don’t desire to be ruled by the flesh any longer but by Your hand. My flesh is weak to the things of this world and I desire to be freed. Shield my mind as I read the Bible. I need your strength to help me overcome the temptations of the adversary. May Your words penetrate my heart and lead me to live a life for You. Help me to see Your goodness and grace. Cover me with Your blood. Open my eyes to be born again. You are the God of miracles and I ask You to change my life today. I give everything I am to You. I love You. Amen.
