After arriving at Elizabeth’s place, in the “city of Juda”, she “saluted Elisabeth” to get her attention. Then, after hearing her greeting, “the babe leaped in her womb.”
Speaking of giving, when we give what we have to those that have not, then it is not only doing God’s work but also brings a special feeling in the heart of the giver.
Along with Abraham and David, there were other key people to note in the line of Jesus’s descendants. One person of importance was Solomon.
We learn that Jesus was called Emmanuel, for He is God with us. And surely the Lord God was with them and will forever be with us.
700 years after Isaiah, the prophesy of Immanuel was fulfilled. Unto Mary, and her husband Joseph, did the Lord Jesus come into this world.
So with all prophesies, they need to be tested, in order to know if they are true. So we test the prophesy given to Micah with the coming of the Lord Jesus.
What happened here, on this fateful day, was a fulfilled prophesy that dated back to the days of Rachel and Jeremiah.
So to answer this question on who Immanuel was or meant to be, we will read from a portion of Isaiah, chapter 8.
And the only person we know that could be born of a virgin is God. Only He could make this miracle take place.
Our Lord God did come as the prophesy was made. Jesus was born of Mary and Joseph, whom was a descendent of David.
Oh how merciful is our Lord Jesus. I give thanks for the cross. Though it was so painful and hard to bare, Jesus suffered that we might be forgiven.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a colt, imagine people all around Him giving praise. It was like a parade and Jesus was the main event.
Blessed is Mary to be the mother of the Son of God. She declared, “he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.”
After talking with Herod, the wise men “departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.”
Mary wondered how she could be pregnant, being kept modest in all things before the Lord. She had waited till marriage for any sexual relations.
Soon after this visitation, the angel also visited Joseph. He told him to not fear his wife’s pregnancy for what she is carrying “is of the Holy Ghost.”
Many centuries passed but this sign of the baby Jesus’s birth was not forgotten. People anxiously awaited the coming of their King.
Jesus is called wonderful, counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, the prince of peace. His peace has no end. He is our judge and judges us with justice.
The prophesy of the Lord’s birth, in Isaiah 7 and 8, was fulfilled in Matthew 1. The wait was finally over. The birth of the Messiah had finally come to pass.
There is no one else that can do a work like Jesus can for our lives. He is our comforter when all seems lost. He overcomes the darkness and shines bright to guide us.
We have much to be grateful for, for though we are fallen He gives us new life. He takes us in because of His great love. Our evil tendencies are replaced by righteous habits.
To Jesus I praise. In this Christmas season I give thanks for His birth. Everything that I cherish is all because He came into the world.
How blessed is Mary among women. She was a chosen vessel to bring forth the Son of God. Her story was of amazing love for her Son Jesus.
Through the Holy Spirit the King of kings was born. “For with God nothing” is impossible. It was a miracle of all miracles to have the Son of God be born to a virgin.
I worship My Holy King, Jesus Christ. There is no one like You. You will never let me go. You are always watching over me.
Let us all rejoice in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let His Name be ever praised. He is my Holy King! I lift You High!
Oh how amazing was His birth. I can never be grateful enough that God on High would come down in the flesh to rescue us from sin.
I welcome You Lord on this Holy Day. I feel Your Holy Presence. You are Mighty! You are Glorious! You are Wondrous!
How amazing it is when a person gives their life to Jesus. The light of Jesus is in their hearts. Their joy becomes exceedingly glad for Him.
