Mary was chosen by God to give birth to the Savior of the world. She was sought out by God because she walked in His ways. For this reason God sent the angel Gabriel to tell her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” What an amazing responsibility was put onto the shoulders of Mary. God chose her to bring forth His only Son to this darken world. He was to be a light to this broken generation. Her Son would be no ordinary man but God in the flesh. He is called the “Great I Am”. I am thankful that Mary believed in the words of the angel. Let Her words be written in our hearts, “Let it be to me according to your word.” For when God calls on our names let us listen. Take heed to His counsel and let the Lord have His way in our lives.
Through the Holy Spirit the King of kings was born. “For with God nothing” is impossible. It was a miracle of all miracles to have the Son of God be born to a virgin. Mary was chosen and now all the world can be saved if they believe in her Son, Jesus. My heart is joyful in the birth of my King. I honor Him with all my heart. His Name is great and is “called the Son of the Highest”. I believe in You Lord. All blessings and honor to Your Holy Name. Your kingdom is what I look forward to. I was blinded through the things of this world and You gave me sight. You’ve delivered me from a life of pain into a life of great joy. All of my praises are extended out to You. My songs of thanksgiving are raised up to You, my Lord. No one is like You. I cherish this time to sit in Your presence. You reign supreme in my heart. I would be so empty if it wasn’t for your birth. Because You came into the world there is light. There is redemption for sins. We can be forgiven because of Your mercy. You have brought forth the gift of eternal life. Thank You Lord. I am forever grateful for all You’ve done for mankind. I love You.
Luke 1:26-38 (NKJV)
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
