Giving Thanks To People And God

All year long, it is important to have a thankful heart.  We show this towards people in life and especially God.  As for people, it is important that we remember to thank the following individuals.  1. Our parents.  The things they do for you, which they do a lot, give them thanks.  2. Our siblings.  As they do things for you also, remember to thank them.  The same can be said for cousins and grandparents.  3. Our Spouse.  This being our prize possession in life other than God, it is very important to thank that person throughout our lifetime.  Think of what that person does for you and/or your children.  How they go out of their way to do things to make you happy.  Thank them.  4. Children.  Our kids do so much for us, others, and at school.  This can be in doing chores, creating things for us like a craft or card, good grades, the chores they do, the service they do for others, and more.  5. Friends.  Remember to thank them for your friendship and what they do for you.  6. Boss and co-workers.  Tell your supervisor/boss thanks for your job.  People on the job do so much to benefit you and the company.  Thank them.

The list above is important, but the most important person to thank in this life is God.  Thank Him for Your family, job, health, spouse, children, and friends.  Not only this, but also thank Him for His Word in your life (the Bible), and your ministries.  In these prayers, we tell Him thanks for the hope He gives us, His love, His blessings, His goodness, always being with us, our salvation, His protection, His mercy, His forgiveness, His grace, listening to our prayers, and so much more.  Paul wrote, “rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)  If you could just remember these verses and other verses in the Bible that speak about giving thanks, you would do this more often than not.  What I mentioned above are simply a few examples of people to thank, and I am sure you can think of many other people also, which is wonderful.  The same can go for God.  Whatever, you are thankful for, make it known to those people and God.  This world would be a better place if we remembered to thank each other instead of being ungrateful. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for my parents. They have been so wonderful in my life, even though I am still saddened that both my mom and dad have now passed on to the grave. This life is so short, God. We are here one day and gone the next it seems. My brothers and sisters have been key to me growing up to be the person I am today. Thank you for them. My wife is so wonderful and I am grateful that You brought her into my life. She is such an awesome mother to my two daughters. Thank You, Lord, for her and my children. I am so blessed to have this family. Each one of my kids has their own unique talents that You have given them. Thank You, God. I’ve built some wonderful friendships in the faith, and I am grateful for their good influences in my life. Thank You for my job at work. I have a wonderful boss and co-workers. All this I give you thank for, but most especially for giving me hope, Your love, Your many blessings, Your goodness, always being there for me through the Holy Spirit, my salvation, Your protection, Your mercy, Your forgiveness and others also, Your grace, and always listening to my prayers. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
