“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and ovetrinr the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26)
It is a proven fact that the Trinity teaching was taught by the early church fathers. This is why this teaching has existed in the Catholic Church for the last two thousand years. Praise God that this sacred teaching has been kept and not corrupted over the centuries. Just one example of a church father is Theophilus of Antioch in A.D. 181. He said, and I quote, “It is the attribute of God, of the most high and almighty and of the living God, not only to be everywhere, but also to see and hear all; for he can in no way be contained in a place. . . . The three days before the luminaries were created are types of the Trinity: God, his Word, and his Wisdom.” (To Autolycus 2:15 [A.D. 181]) Theophilus was referring to Genesis 1, where God said let us make man in our image. This is speaking of the Trinity, which we just learned. God is called Elohim. Which is the plural nature of God. It is made up of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These are three different persons in one God. This is Biblical.
The Holy Trinity belief has stood the test of time. I am talking about the last two thousand years and counting. Only false churches take this holy and sacred teaching and make it out to be heresy. Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, and other Christian sects do this. The Mormon people say that this teaching came from the dark ages, by way of false teachers, and cannot be trusted. And so they teach their godhead teaching, where the Father is a God, the Son is a God, and the Holy Spirit are a God, making up three Gods in total. Just like the Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses will argue about the trinity till they are blue in the face. They believe that Jesus is not God, so they reject the trinity teaching altogether. These are the times when false teachers will rise up and attempt to deceive the very elect. It happened with Joseph Smith in Mormonism, and Charles Taze Russel in the case of Jehovah Witnesses. Therefore, it is our duty to help these lost people know the truth of God and his nature. That the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one God. Praise be to God, the Holy Trinity. Amen.
