“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5,6)
If Mormons stopped reading their extra Biblical books and stuck with the Bible, God would be able to teach them in a pure form. The Book of Mormon is important to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, it’s worth considering that relying only on the Bible could deepen one’s connection with God. By focusing solely on the Bible, Mormons can deepen their connection with God and gain a true understanding of His teachings. They will even learn to trust in God and not doubt His Words or what He can do in their lives. This comes through putting aside other books and reading the Bible daily. A change will come little by little. Praying as you read will help in your journey.
The plethora of additional texts within Mormonism muddies the waters. It causes them to have different beliefs than Christians, and even confusion among their members. Simplifying their religious practices by only following the Bible could foster greater clarity and unity among members. Furthermore, relying solely on the Bible will strengthen their faith. It encourages direct personal engagement with scripture rather than interpretations or supplements provided by other texts. The truth of the matter is that God’s Words are alive and active. If you trust in God, then you would also trust in His Words. Therefore, the Bible is true, not as far as it is translated correctly as Mormon leaders want you to think.
By adhering strictly to the teachings in the Bible, Mormons will open themselves up to new avenues of spiritual growth. This allows God to do a true work in their lives. By seeking inspiration beyond what is written in His word, individuals will find themselves less receptive to divine guidance. God will not be able to reveal His truth to them. For Mormons, extra-Biblical books are valuable. However, giving up these texts and relying exclusively on the Bible, will give them potential in God’s kingdom. They will experience personal growth and connection with a higher power. Don’t be found adding to the Bible. Many false teachers come about because their extra Biblical books now hold more value than the Bible. Amen.
