I invite you all to die to yourself daily and live for the Lord. This means to examine ourselves before God and confess our sins openly. We die to anything evil that we have committed and thought upon, and give it all over to Christ. He hears these confessions and has mercy for our souls. We will have to give an account to God. Many people may say, “let us eat drink, and be merry, for we have a long life to live, and we could just repent later.” How foolish are these people’s choices, for they could die in their sleep and not live another day. Our communication also says a lot about who we are in the faith. The way we speak about others, either good or evil, is seen, along with any cursing that comes out of our mouths. Paul wrote, “I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:31-33)
Make a choice to live for Jesus. If you do this, then He will awake you to righteousness. You will no longer be asleep or dead in the faith, but alive in Christ Jesus. One day our bodies will go to the grave and await the resurrection. This will happen during the judgment seat of Christ. Our greatest rewards are presented on this day, either for good or evil, depending upon our lives lived. Everything we have done is recorded in heaven and will be used against us if we were not right with the Lord in this life. Paul also taught, “awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die.” (1 Corinthians 15:34-36) Don’t be that person who is eternally regretful for their decisions on earth after judgment is set. Living for Jesus is the best decision you will ever make. Seek Him first on a daily basis and your decisions will be suited to His. God be with you. Amen.

Oh Lord, I give You my life. All my evil thoughts, I give it over to You. Everything I have said that was wrong, I give it to You. I am sorry. Everything I have committed that is evil in Your sight, I give it to You also. As I have broken Your commandments, I ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. The flesh is weak, but that doesn’t give me a right to justify things I have done. You know everything about me, God. Satan comes after me when I am the most vulnerable. This is because I have allowed different things to stimulate my senses over time, and the devil knows this. However, Your presence is greater and wills me to fight against the evil forces of this world. To not just give into their every whim, but put up the shield of faith. God, clothe me with Your righteousness. Dress me in Your holiness. Pour into me your Spirit. Block every evil influence in my life. Put a barrier between me and the evil of this world. My life is for You. Hear my prayers and have mercy for my soul. I die daily to myself and live for You. I love You, Jesus. I am all in. Amen.
