Joseph Smith Changed The Bible: Revelation 12:1

There is a huge problem with Mormons making the claim that Joseph Smith is a prophet. This man was so arrogant as to think he had the right to change the King James Bible (KJV). He didn’t care that it was already translated word for word from the Textus Receptus (New Testament) and the Masoretic Text (Old Testament). This was already a complete work from God and still, Joseph Smith came to desecrate it while changing over 3410+ verses. You can see this if you were to get a copy of the Joseph Smith Translation (JST) and then compare that text with the KJV Bible. You see, he didn’t translate the Bible from any ancient manuscript, but made his own Bible. He used the already translated KJV Version and then called it the Inspired Version. One such change in regard to the Bible, and in this case, the Book of Revelation, is Revelation 12:1. I compare the KJV with the JST in this verse below…

Revelation 12:1 (KJV)
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.

Revelation 12:1 (Joseph Smith Translation)
1 And there appeared a great sign in heaven in the likeness of things on the earth: a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.

So what are the changes in Revelation 12:1 (KJV), when compared to the JST? The The phrase, “in the likeness of things on the earth”, was added in.  We see Joseph comparing the signs in heaven to things on earth, which has nothing to do what is taking place.  This is a huge change and takes away from the true meaning of the verse.  So what do we see happening here? We see that Joseph Smith adding in additional text to the verse. What does this mean? It means that he falls into the warning given by Jesus to people who purposely add or remove from this prophecy. So his consequences are as follows. #1. Joseph Smith went to hell, where he is experiencing much pain and sorrow. #2. In Judgment, he will find out that his name is not found in the book of life, which means he will not be able to enter New Jerusalem. #3. He will receive a resurrected body that can die, for he will then experience a second death in the lake of fire. See below for details…

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:12-15)
