“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20)
As the LDS Conference ended the day before, Patrick and I decided to witness to people around Temple Square and the City Creek Mall. The day started off with a pleasant surprise. We stumbled upon the Jehovah’s Witnesses and their booth. Seeing how much I love talking to these people, Patrick and I rushed over to talk to them. We each helped them know the different places in the Bible where Jesus said He is God. Also, how the Old Testament talks about Emmanuel being born of a virgin, which means God with us. How Jesus is Emmanuel and how God became flesh. They tried to justify how Jesus is only the Son of God even after all the verses we shared with them about Jesus being God. They could not get around the verses we shared with them, and we simply invited them to read the verses in context that on their own time. It was after this that we talked to a homeless lady, of whom she received prayer. After we ate, I also got her and another homeless man a quarter pounder with cheese from McDonald’s. They were so happy to have some food and gave us hugs. Praise the Lord.
We then headed to the University of Utah and began interviewing different people about the LGBTQ U sign. It had the Pride Rainbow on it, which is very disturbing. There, we interviewed two sets of people, of whom they were both for it. We helped them see how Christians would be offended by it. This is because of our faith in Jesus and how we believe that it is natural for man and woman to come together and not man with man or woman with woman. How this God’s way for mankind according to the Bible. We also passed out tracts during our time there, which was awesome. Later on, we knocked on doors in the richest neighborhood in SLC. There, we met an older man named Kay, who invited us into his house. Although he was Mormon, he was very engaging when it came to our discussion on salvation, temples, church, and more. He even said we could come back in 6 months when we return. To finish the night, we did a Bible study on Revelation 6. We talked about the seven seals and what happened when Jesus opened them. What a day in God’s harvest. Praise God! Amen.
