Utah Mission Trip (04/04/23)

On this last day of our mission trip, I want to leave you with a few verses from Psalm 99. It reads, “He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them. Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions. Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.” (Psalm 99:7-9) Here, we learn that God’s commandments are important and not man’s own doctrines. How ordinances were once important but were done away with Christ. God is able to forgive those who walk after the commandments of men, but they must forsake their false beliefs first and put their trust in Jesus. These people must also learn to extol the Lord Jesus in worship and not a dead man, Joseph Smith, who is dead. God is holy and takes vengeance upon the wicked. These are those who make themselves out to be God and try to save dead people, while performing wicked works for them.

During the time that Patrick, Adam, and I, witnessed to Mormons on the trip, we shared these truths with them, but only a few people would listen. Praise God, that many people took tracts and the handouts we gave them. I do have hope that many Mormons will see the truth in the Bible and what God’s witnesses have to share with them. Although today was a very snowy day and we could not reach many people for God’s sake, it was wonderful to reflect upon this trip with Patrick and understand what God expects of us while in His harvest. There are many people who are lost, and although a thousand people will walk past us without taking a tract, if even one person does, talks to us, and allows us to pray for them, it was a success. This happened, with a man that was Mormon. I am so grateful that he heard the truth and allowed us to pray over him. This happened on Sunday, which I will never forget. Thank You, Lord. The harvest is ripe, even in the state of Utah. God just needs more people willing to become His witnesses for this to happen. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh, Lord, I am grateful for this mission trip. There were countless people that You put on our paths. Many individuals heard Your truth with an open heart, and also acknowledged that they could be wrong. This trip was a cold one, but that did not deter Patrick, Adam, and I, from witnessing to Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and people of all faiths. As much as it was fun raising up our sign during the LDS General Conference, it was also a blast interviewing people at the University of Utah, and knocking on doors. I love these people, so as to share Your truths with them. Who am I to think I know everything? Therefore, I put my whole trust in You, God, and what the Bible teaches. We would have never known the words to speak to people if You did not fill our minds with wisdom. Even in the hour and minute that we talked with people, we were able to quote verses from the Bible from memory, which You put on our hearts. I would also not have known who to talk to, unless You put them on our paths. Thank You, Jesus. I love You, God. Your works were on display.  Amen.
