“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.” <strong>(<a href=”/learn/bible/isaiah/isaiah-65/”>Isaiah 65</a>:17,18)</strong>

The Mission Trip to Utah started with a smooth ride on the freeway, although winter weather had come. You heard that right. Even in April, snow was falling. The son delayed the drive to about 6 hours but not too bad, and Patrick Roy was patiently waiting at the Salt Lake City Airport. Upon picking him up, it was an awesome time just catching up on different Christian ministries we’ve been up to since last fall. He has been going overseas with his Final Nations outreach, and I’ve been hitting the streets with Compass Bible Church. It was awesome sharing our stories together about how God has been moving in our lives. We were both excited about this trip specifically since we would be the closest we’d ever been when it comes to Temple Square. Our hotel, the Comfort Inn, was only 1 mile away, and carrying our sign with us, this would make it that much easier to take it to Temple Square and back to the hotel as needed. Our previous plans to stay at a person’s home didn’t work out, but this hotel would work out just as well, but with unexpected expenses. It is all worth it to reach the lost for the sake of Jesus.
After picking up Patrick, we got some food and then headed over to the Comfort Inn. The roads weren’t that bad, and the hotel was also very nice inside. That night we stayed up preparing for the upcoming days ahead. Because of the snow, we knew things would be different. We discussed going to the LDS Conference Center with our sign on Saturday and Sunday. How we’d spend most of our time at the sessions they’d be having twice a day. We both brought our handouts and gospel tracts, so we were ready as ever, more specifically, as the Holy Spirit was with us in these efforts. We prayed for the trip and that God would be with us in our efforts. I also prayed for Patrick’s headaches and sinus issues, and he did the same for me. It was afterword that his headaches started to dissipate, as well as his nose and throat issues got better. That night we did a Bible study in Isaiah 65 and 66 about the millennium. It was awesome getting into the Word and learning something new with my dear brother in Christ, Patrick Roy. God chose us for this trip, and we are simply his willing vessels to reach the lost for His sake. God bless you all.
